Post Magazine – News Analysis – board representation
Of the top ten UK insurers, only three have a claims specialist sitting at board level. This piece asks a question put often to the industry but smacks of a debate which is run largely because we as observers desire uniformity. Why aren’t corporate structures in insurance all the same? I suspect that is the real question and one which can only be answered by somehow gauging the relative success of insurers, using their management hierarchy as a measurement. What aspects of their board and corporate structure have contributed to their business success or failures? An MBA thesis beckons.
