BGL Reshuffle
Anna McEntee has been appointed Director at BGL Frontline, taking on responsibility for the Dial Direct and Budget brands. Anna has been with BGL since 2008 and recently boosted the NPS score for both insurance brands, using a range of rewards initiatives.
Mark Townsend now becomes COO of the Frontline division, and Ali Crossley now takes on the MD role at BGL Junction Partnerships, plus responsibility for Customer Services.
Allianz Global
Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty SE (AGCS) has appointed Lars Vissing as Regional Unit London (RUL) Head of Claims, starting in February 2018. Mr. Vissing succeeds Martin Henson who retires after nearly 20 years with Allianz. Based in London and Copenhagen.
Lars Vissing will lead AGCS’ claims team in the UK, Ireland, Dubai, Russia, the Nordic Region, Australia and New Zealand. Currently Head of Claims for the AGCS Nordic region, Mr. Vissing will continue to be directly responsible for the area.
AG Brings in Mark Rawson
AG, the independent London Market insurance broker, has appointed Mark Rawson to its advisory panel. Rawson is an experienced maritime consultant who has been working independently since leaving a management position at Zodiac Maritime in August.
Mark’s appointment is part of AG’s commitment to continued expansion and investment into both its marine and non-marine capabilities, with the backing of a strong advisory panel.
“AG is a respected independent brand within the industry and I’m looking forward to helping to develop the brokerage’s profile in the marketplace. Clearly there are a lot of synergies in terms of my maritime experience and there’s definitely room for a strong independent in the market – AG is perfectly placed to own that space.”
Andy Homer Joins Hood Group
Insurtech specialist Hood Group has appointed ex-Towergate CEO Andy Homer, as a non-executive Chairman. It’s quite a coup for Hood to get Homer on board, who is investing both time, and his own money, in companies which are seeking to transform the existing sales and marketing models across the sector.
Hood recently launched a travel insurance product, with Jack Ramsey and Lauren Gooch both leaving Insure and Go to help Hood Group expand its travel offering.
Newman Leaves Carole Nash
After a ten year stint at the helm of motorcycle insurance specialist Carole Nash, CEO David Newman is stepping down following the Ardonagh purchase. Ian Donaldson from Autonet will take control of the handlebars from March onwards.
ITS Brings In New IT Director
Insure Telematics Solutions has appointed Paul Nicolas IT Director. Paul has experience working for AXA and Simplify Group. ITS specialise in offering black box software with machine learning capabilities, so that driving behaviour, accident analysis and post-accident claims can be handled more smoothly.
LV Strengthens Executive Team
Richard Hoad has been appointed Director of New Markets at Liverpool Victoria (LV), while Cheryl Binnis becomes Group Strategy and Insight Director. Both are internal promotions.
Covea Makes Nigel Johnstone Midlands Branch Manager
Covea Insurance, has appointed Nigel Johnstone Midlands Branch Manager, with a responsibility for the high net worth sector, and ongoing development of the Covea broker business.
