With the participation of existing investors – Karma Ventures, Inovo Venture Partners, and DreamIT Ventures, as well as EBRD and heal capital, Infermedica healthcare tech specialist, has just raised $10.25M in Series A.
The new funds will help Infermedica grow into the next stage of developing robust AI-based clinical decision support solutions for both patients and doctors.
Infermedica is based in Poland, with a team of over 100 people – medical doctors, software engineers, and data scientists – passionate about the potential of artificial intelligence in preliminary medical diagnosis.
This year, Infermedica decided to support healthcare systems, overburdened by the pandemic, with our COVID-19 Risk Assessment. Thanks to the Infermedica team’s commitment, the tool was created in just three weeks and has been used by almost 300 organizations around the world, including two national governments.
The company has big ambitions and feels the timing is right, now that Coronavirus has encouraged more people to use online pharmacy and GP advice.
So far, Infermedica’s solutions have been focused on triaging patients and routing them to the most suitable point of care, thus saving time, unnecessary visits, and scarce clinical resources. Now, as the next step on the path to the “Virtual GP”, they are working on clinical decision support capabilities such as automating mundane documentation tasks to save physicians time and providing them with rich and structured insights.
Infermedica says that they’re actively looking for engineers, data scientists, programmers, and sales specialists. Right now, they have several open job positions, and adding new ones as the global economy shifts to remote based teams and more flexible work patterns.
