Gallagher Futures Will Kickstart Insurance Careers

Some very good news on future careers and opportunities from Gallagher, much needed in these Covid-restricted times;

Gallagher today announced it is launching a new development programme for graduates and sales focused people looking for a change of career.

Gallagher Futures is a two year intensive development programme aimed at attracting results driven individuals. It will start in August this year. On the programme, trainees will learn a wide range of skills and will also get time to study for their certificate in insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII). Participants will be as hands on as possible with clients during the programme, and will be encouraged to make a difference early on.

Trainees will learn how to manage client relationships and grow their portfolio; devise tailored and appropriate insurance solutions; liaise with insurers to negotiate best possible terms for Gallagher clients; build and manage a sales pipeline and analyse and interpret sales data to utilise patterns and trends.

Individuals will have a local mentor for on-the-job support and will be paired with another participant in the same location to share experiences. They will receive regular support and learning interventions from Gallagher’s learning and development team. Roles will be available across the UK in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Bristol and in three of Gallagher’s trading businesses – Retail, Gallagher Re and its London based Specialty team.

The programme is open to people already in work and looking for a new career direction, or individuals leaving university. Applicants will need a minimum of GCSE standard education and Gallagher will be looking for individuals with strong communications skills, good planning and analytic skills and a strong focus on customer delivery.

Commenting on the programme, Claire Davies, Gallagher HR Director, said: “This presents a fantastic opportunity for people looking to develop their business development and insurance experience. Throughout the programme, participants will get the opportunity to be hands on with clients meaning they quickly get a real feeling for the role and the industry. We hope that through the programme we can attract team members that are passionate about looking after our clients and bring fresh new talent into the industry, plus help build further diversity in our workforce.”
