ThingCo Gears Up For `Theo’ Dashcam Launch in 2019

With the countdown underway for the launch of “Theo” its ground breaking connected car service delivered via a ‘super dashcam’ in Q1 2019, ThingCo, the top InsurTech 100 company created by Mike Brockman, former CEO of insurethebox, is readying itself for expansion.  The business has moved its IT, smart First Notification of Loss (FNOL) and customer service operations from Hoult’s Yard to Quorum Business Park, in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.

Mike Brockman comments: “It’s under a year since we launched as a business and we’re just about ready to bring to market our game-changing connected car service through a ‘super dashcam’ that will really deliver motoring freedom and puts the consumer in control of their data.  Our new location in Quorum Business Park in Newcastle will act as our nerve centre and most importantly offers us the right environment for expansion as device sales take off following launch.

“Newcastle is home from home for me.  It offers a great base for the people skills we will need and the facilities to foster innovation and expansion.  It is from this location that we will run all the services we plan to offer motorists based on the data from the super dashcam device – from black spot alerts while they drive to driving scores for access to cheaper insurance.

“One of the key elements of our service is the support we will offer customers following an accident, with a smart FNOL process through interactions via their app, by phone and text-based chatbots.

“The new Technology centre is one of the final pieces on the jigsaw before we deliver a service that will transform the driving experience for thousands of motorists across the UK.”

The ThingCo “Theo” service will utilise ADAS, Intelligent voice and AI to help improve driver safety and give motorists greater control over their driving data, their insurance cover and claims process.
