Bspoke Pays Tribute to Brave Police Officers at Awards Ceremony

The word from Bspoke Group, as bravery awards were made yesterday to Police Officers who went above and beyond;

New Home Secretary Yvette Cooper was on hand to congratulate officers nominated for the 2024 Police Bravery Awards, at a reception in Downing Street on 11 July. The awards have been sponsored by Police Mutual, part of BSpoke Group, for the last ten years. Kerry McMahon-White, Managing Director of Police Mutual and Forces Mutual, said:

“We are very proud to sponsor the National Police Federation of England and Wales Police Bravery Awards honouring exceptional officers who have served their communities in extraordinary ways demonstrating exceptional bravery, commitment and sacrifice.”

She added: “The insurance industry is dedicated to providing people with protection when things go wrong, and giving them peace of mind, so there is a historic connection between what we do and the role of the police. We protect the police, who protect us all.

Kerry explained that Police Mutual has served the financial needs of serving and retired police officers for nearly 160 years, including their insurance. The business has around 250,000  policyholders, and 140 staff based in Liverpool.

The 2024 Police Bravery Award winners were Met police officers PC Alannah Mulhall and PC Joseph Gerrard, who in September 2022  put their own lives at risk to protect colleagues and the public with their efforts to detain a knifeman who had stabbed both in a frenzied attack.
