In a way it’s good news, although for owners having a stolen-recovered vehicle means higher insurance premiums. That said the use of technology like Trackers will eventually deter some organised thieves, who are stealing prestige cars to order for overseas customers. Here’s the word from Tracker Network UK;
The latest data from stolen vehicle recovery (SVR) expert, Tracker Network UK Limited, reveals there has been a dramatic year-on-year increase in the number of stolen vehicles it has recovered. In 2024, Tracker recovered over £24million worth of vehicles in total, but that record has already been broken, with more than £31million of stolen vehicles recovered January to September 2025 – a 15-year high.
The ever-increasing threat of vehicle theft alongside operational and financial challenges, has galvanised industry wide collaboration to protect motorists, brand reputation and improve insurance loss ratios. Some of the U.K.’s top 100 dealer groups, premium OEMs and market leading insurers – as well as the 2,000+ police cars and every police helicopter equipped with Tracker’s technology – have played a significant role in accelerating Tracker’s 2025 stolen vehicle recovery success.
Mark Kameen, Lead for the National Vehicle Crime Reduction Partnership (NVCRP), said: “By working together with our partners and members, sharing intelligence, expertise and innovation, we can take a more cohesive approach to disrupting organised vehicle theft and reducing its wider impact on businesses and communities. The launch of the NVCRP’s National Vehicle Crime Strategy marks a major step forward in how we tackle organised vehicle crime across the UK. A key focus of the strategy is building stronger partnerships between law enforcement and the private sector to deliver a more effective response to those engaged in organised vehicle crime.”
The success of this strategic alignment between police and industry is evident in Tracker’s most current 2025 recovery figures. As of September 30th, Tracker has successfully located and recovered 1286 stolen vehicles, resulting in 113 arrests, which has shut down 61 illegal chop shops and recovered an additional 164 vehicles which did not have Tracker devices fitted. All of these achievements surpass those recorded in 2024.
Tracker’s partnership with Toyota GB alone has seen more than 50,000 Tracker units installed in new Toyota vehicles, resulting in £18.3million worth of vehicles successfully recovered and returned to their owners.

Indeed, following a highly successful trial with Tracker in 2024, in which we achieved a successful recovery rate of 95%, we have been rolling out Tracker installation as an option for buyers of the most targeted models to help add a level of customer reassurance. The number and value of Toyota recoveries so far in 2025 clearly demonstrate the value of our partnership with Tracker.
