As 2025 draws to a close, Coversure Insurance Brokers is looking ahead to 2026 to help men throughout the business with a critical Prostate Cancer health check. Prostate Cancer is the most common cancer in men. 1 in 8 men will get it, based on current statistics.
Coversure is funding the provision and distribution of free Prostate PSA tests for men in the network, so they can be given the opportunity to spot any potential issues early on. Over 75% of offices throughout Coversure have requested the tests so far with distribution set to commence in January. In the UK, there is currently no national screening programme for prostate cancer. However, men aged 50 and above (or 45 if at higher risk) can request a PSA test from their GP.
What is a Prostate PSA test?
The test involves taking a small blood sample, usually from a vein in your arm.
A prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test is a blood test that measures the level of PSA, a protein produced by the prostate gland, and is primarily used to screen for prostate cancer.
The PSA test is used to detect elevated levels of prostate-specific antigen in the blood, which can indicate prostate cancer or other prostate conditions, such as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) or prostatitis. While a high PSA level can be a warning sign, it does not definitively diagnose cancer, as many non-cancerous conditions can also raise PSA levels.

“Raising awareness of Prostate Cancer is, thankfully, something that we see in the media relatively frequently these days. However, the reality is that not enough men are getting tested. I hope that this campaign goes some way to helping men throughout the network, and encourages others to take this very simple test that could be life-saving.”
The tests being offered are rapid diagnostic self-tests, meaning the sample does not need to be sent off anywhere else. The result is delivered on the cassette in just ten minutes.
