Time for another round up of job moves, let’s get into it;

DESCARTES UNDERWRITING

Descartes Underwriting, world leader in corporate parametric (re)insurance solutions, has expanded Commercial Director Juan Maria Marqués Domenech’s responsibilities to cover Central Europe in addition to Iberia, and has appointed Felix Dalheimer as Business Developer for Germany and Austria, further strengthening the company’s presence across Europe. Dalheimer joins from Chubb, where he was an underwriter for German risks. He previously held technical roles in catastrophe analysis at R+V Re in Wiesbaden, developing extensive expertise in natural catastrophe risks and their financial impacts.

FM

Commercial property insurer FM recently announced the appointment of Steve Wrinkle to senior vice president, Eastern division manager.

In his new role, Wrinkle will be responsible for operations and management of FM’s Eastern region. He will retain his current responsibilities as head of strategy and business transformation, including leading FM’s portfolio of strategic initiatives. Wrinkle joined FM in 1990 as a field engineer in the company’s Dallas operations. Over his career at FM, he has held a variety of engineering and client service management roles, including operations senior vice president, chemical operations manager.

NEW COVEA CEO

Philippe Domart has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, subject to regulatory approval, and will succeed Georges De Macedo on 1st of April 2026

Philippe brings more than twenty years’ experience across global insurance and reinsurance markets. He has a wealth of underwriting expertise and international experience having held senior roles at Partner Re and more recently within the commercial business unit at MMA in France. Philippe will relocate to the UK to be closer to our teams and partners. This supports the Group’s long-term commitment to the UK market and is an important milestone in positioning our business for future growth and unlocking our full potential.

GALLAGHER

Gallagher, the global insurance broking and risk management company, today announced the appointment of specialist international tax and M&A lawyer Adriana Carvalho Assuncao as a Director within its fast-growing Private Equity and M&A practice.

Adriana joins Gallagher this week from KPMG, bringing more than a decade of experience advising multinational groups on cross-border matters. She has been part of KPMG’s US international tax practice in London for more than six years, most recently in the role of Manager, specialising in M&A transactions, corporate reorganisations and international tax structuring for European multinational and US-based corporate clients. A qualified lawyer admitted to the Brazilian Bar, with an LL.M in Taxation from Washington DC’s Georgetown Law, Adriana’s professional experience spans buy- and sell-side US tax due diligence, international tax structuring and providing legal counsel on sophisticated cross-border transactions.

EVERSPAN GROUP

Everspan Group (“Everspan”), a specialty property and casualty insurance platform and wholly owned subsidiary of Octave Specialty Group, Inc. (NYSE: OSG), has announced two leadership changes to support its next phase of growth. Effective immediately, Darwin Lucas will become President, succeeding Steve Dresner, and Nicole Crowley has been promoted to General Counsel. Lucas has served as Chief Underwriting and Reinsurance Officer since 2023, a role he will continue to hold.

As President, Lucas will oversee Everspan’s operations and strategic execution, working closely with the leadership team to expand the platform’s underwriting capabilities and market presence. He brings extensive experience across specialty insurance, reinsurance portfolio management, and has played a key role in Everspan’s growth.

In connection with this announcement, Nicole Crowley, who has been serving as Assistant General Counsel, has been promoted to General Counsel. Nicole brings over a decade of insurance law experience. Prior to joining Everspan in 2024, Nicole was products counsel for Coaction Global.

ACRISURE

Acrisure Portugal, part of global fintech leader Acrisure, announces the appointment of João Mendonça as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective immediately.

Leveraging deep local expertise and the global reach of the Acrisure network, Acrisure Portugal is a long-standing insurance broker with over 50 years in the Portuguese market and provides innovative, customised solutions that help businesses manage risk and accelerate growth. With a national footprint of 12 offices, the firm offers a full spectrum of insurance solutions, specialising in corporate, trade credit and personal insurance.

Mendonça joins Acrisure Portugal with more than 25 years’ experience in insurance. He had served as General Manager of Howden in Portugal since 2020, following an extensive career at Aon, where he joined in 2006 and later held the role of Chief Commercial Officer.

HUB INTERNATIONAL

PRINCIPAL INSURANCE

Principal Insurance has appointed Sharron Titterington as Compliance and HR Director to the boards of both its trading and group holding companies. The move sees Titterington stepping up from her previous role as Head of Compliance and HR, a post she held for over seven years. She will retain her position as Company Secretary.
She is one of the broker’s longest serving employees, having joined as Compliance & Finance manager just two months after its founding in May 2011. She then enjoyed successive promotions, culminating in her board appointment.
MISSION

Mission, the global MGA incubator, recently announced the appointment of Tom Hill as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of the UK and European operation. Hill, a career-long MGA specialist, joins with a specific mandate: to leverage his deep technical underwriting experience to drive commercial strategy and to identify the next generation of high-performance MGAs.

Hill brings a unique combination of underwriting, DUA placement and MGA founding experience. Most recently, he served as Head of International Placement at Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers International following its acquisition of Innovisk Capital Partners, where he led capacity and underwriting enhancements across more than 40 in-house MGAs. His track record as a hands-on MGA leader is a defining strength he brings to this new role.

SX3

SX3 has appointed Stephen Walker as Managing Director, as the business continues to build on sustained growth across its claims audit and consultancy services. Stephen joins SX3 in mid-February and will take responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of the business, with a focus on service quality, delivery consistency and ensuring SX3 remains closely aligned to the needs of insurers and claims organisations operating in a rapidly evolving market.

He brings extensive senior leadership experience across insurance claims operations, having spent more than a decade at Covéa Insurance in a range of senior operational roles. His background also includes leadership positions at HomeProtect and Aviva, working across complex claims environments, delegated arrangements and supply-chain models.

IPIPELINE

 iPipeline, a leading provider of digital solutions for the, has announced the appointment of Ben Grant as Vice President, Sales and Marketing for iPipeline UK & Europe.

Ben will lead a newly combined Sales and Marketing organisation, responsible for devising and executing go-to-market strategies and spearheading the launch of a new Customer Success function, to enhance an already lauded customer & partner experience.

Ben brings extensive leadership experience across sales, customer success, marketing and partner ecosystems, alongside a track record in driving revenue growth & innovation – whilst creating high-performing teams – across the financial services and technology sectors. Most recently, he served as Managing Director at TP24, where he built and led a Lending-as-a-Service (LaaS) proposition from concept to market-ready.  Previously, Ben has held senior leadership roles across Fintech and Insurtech, including Commercial Director roles for Aronova and Finverity.

Sphera has announced the appointment of Chris Gutheil as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) as the company accelerates investment in product innovation and AI to support a robust, multi-year product roadmap.

Gutheil will play a central role in scaling AI-driven innovation across Sphera’s portfolio, strengthening the global engineering organization, and ensuring the delivery of reliable, scalable solutions that help customers strengthen enterprise resilience and unlock new sources of operational value. His leadership will help advance the evolution of the recently announced Sphera AI — designed to transform actionable and verifiable data into predictive insights that help companies manage risk, ensure compliance, and drive operational excellence from the C-suite to the factory floor.

Gutheil joined Sphera effective February 9, 2026, leading the company’s global Technology organization from its Chicago office. He will serve on the Executive Leadership Team and report directly to Paul Marushka, CEO and president of Sphera.

TL DALLAS

Independent insurance broker, TL Dallas, has appointed Tim Mortimer as its new Chief Executive, as the fourth-generation family firm positions itself for the next phase of managed growth. Tim takes up the role at the Yorkshire-headquartered group as Group Managing Director, and fourth generation family member, Polly Staveley, moves into an Executive Chair position, allowing her to focus on strategy, key clients, ambassadorial work and selective acquisitions.

Tim joined TL Dallas six years ago as Commercial Managing Director, with a clear succession plan in mind and has since played a central role in developing the Group’s commercial insurance operations, delivering significant year on year organic growth. He has over 35 years’ experience in the insurance sector, having previously held senior regional roles at Smart & Cook, Bluefin and Marsh Commercial.

During his time at TL Dallas, Tim has been instrumental in strengthening the group’s footprint in Scotland, most notably through the acquisition of a 40-strong team based in Inverness, Elgin and Orkney, now operating as Nord Dallas and Caledonia Dallas.
