The latest appointments update from Consilium;
Consilium, the global speciality (re)insurance broker, is pleased to announce the expansion of its claims team with the appointment of three highly experienced claims professionals.
Nicole Crowhurst has joined Consilium as an Associate Partner. Formerly an Associate Director at Evolin Broking Ltd, Nicole brings 33 years of claims handling experience, with specialist expertise in international Property, Marine, Professional Indemnity, and Cyber claims gained at both Evolin and ACN. Her background also includes handling Reinsurance claims at Aon and Guy Carpenter.
Louise Biddell has joined Consilium as a Senior Associate. Joining from Price Forbes, where she was a Senior Claims Specialist, Louise is a law graduate with 22 years of experience in international Casualty, Property and Subrogation claims. Her experience also includes roles at Lockton, Xchanging, SCOR and AIG.
Kristin DeSouza also joins Consilium as a Senior Associate from Price Forbes, where she was a Senior Claims Advocate. Whilst Kristin brings 24 years of experience as a specialist in Reinsurance, she has also covered Casualty, Medical Malpractice, General Liability, Property and Professional Indemnity claims in a career that has included roles at Besso, Aon and Swiss Re.
These three new female senior claims hires bring the total combined years of expertise in the claims team to over 200. Together, the team (which includes two senior (re)insurance lawyers and other technical and operational claims broking experts) has a broad range of UK and international expertise covering the full spectrum of global Professional and Financial, Casualty, Property, Construction, Cargo, Cyber, Healthcare and Reinsurance risks. Its collaborative “all in” culture ensures every member of the team is empowered to bring their expertise to the fore, consistently delivering an exceptional service and the best possible outcome on every claim.
The appointments illustrate Consilium’s broader investment in setting a new standard for claims excellence in the broking market, that is client advocacy led. It is uniquely investing in building a talented team and augmenting their expertise and workflows with thoughtful and intentional application of data and technology. QUANTUM, Consilium’s proprietary claims management system, part of the ATOMX ecosystem, reduces claims processing administration, freeing up valuable time for the claims team to focus on achieving better results for clients on complex and higher-value claims.
The Consilium claims team now has a truly international cross-class capability that combines forensic skill, empathy, and a deep understanding of both carrier and broker expectations. This expertise is underpinned by the sophisticated, efficient, and responsive processing capabilities of award-winning proprietary technology investment. And through closer collaboration with placement teams, specialist claims vendors, lawyers, brokers and policyholders, Consilium can continuously improve customer service, provide meaningful guidance, and pro-actively support clients.
Commenting on the expansion of the claims team, Nick Woodward, Chief Claims Officer at Consilium, commented: “Consilium is quickly distinguishing itself by placing its claims team on an equal footing with our broking teams. Claims is not a back-office function here; it is front and centre when it comes to empowering global technical excellence, superior service, and outcomes-based differentiation. We are talent-led in every sense of the word, continually improving our claims experience by optimising expertise via advanced processes and technology. We’re not following the pack and embracing AI efficiency at the expense of talent; we’re investing in talent whilst using technology to augment claims roles. I’m delighted to welcome all three new members to the team.”
