The LMG are thinking risk, with all its variable factors. That means new Specialty products, new thinking on MGA support and Underwriting too, with an event coming up in May 2026. Here’s the word;
The London Market Group, the trade body for the specialty (re)insurance industry in London, today announced the launch of London Risk Week to celebrate London’s world-leading position as a centre of risk transfer and showcase its expertise and experience. The week is centred around the Global Risk Summit being held on May 12th which will explore how the London’s insurance market can help global firms tackle the most pressing and emerging risks confronting global businesses.
Caroline Wagstaff, CEO of the London Market Group, said “This is the first time our market has acted together to build a collection of events which spotlight risk in the widest possible sense, and celebrate the ecosystem that is London and the solutions that it drives for our business partners both at home and abroad. I am delighted by how many launch supporters we have on the roster – but there is always room for more!
“The aggregation of all this activity is building a great sense of excitement and it is positive reinforcement of London’s position as the fulcrum of innovation in risk transfer. I am grateful to the City of London Corporation and Dame Susan Langley for their leadership in this, and I hope we are building a repeatable template for the future”.
Dame Susan Langley, Lady Mayor of the City of London, added; “London is the undisputed home of global risk transfer, but we don’t shout enough about the uniqueness and stability of the UK’s insurance industry. We need to keep reminding people of why they love doing business here, so I encourage you to all get involved with London Risk Week.”
