Brown & Brown Teams Up With Futures For All Charity

It’s becoming ever more difficult for younger people to get jobs in the UK, so this partnership should help improve access to careers;

Brown & Brown (Europe) has partnered with Futures For All, a leading social mobility charity working to expand access to work experience and career opportunities, to help encourage school-age students to see insurance as a credible and rewarding career option.

Recognising that insurance is not always seen as an obvious career choice for those without prior exposure to the industry, the move comes as one of several proactive steps Brown & Brown is taking to identifying and nurturing emerging talent, not only to support its own growth, but also to strengthen the wider insurance industry.

Through its collaboration with Futures For All, the company will work directly with school-age students, offering mentorship and real-world insight into professional life.

Team members from Brown & Brown will hold speaker sessions discussing how they entered the industry, what roles exist across insurance, and why the sector can offer varied, long-term careers.

For those in higher education, Brown & Brown is also offering a final year internship scheme, giving university students hands-on experience before they graduate, and launching a new graduate scheme, designed to fast-track talented graduates into the industry.

Candidates in both programmes will gain rotational experience across critical areas such as Retail, Claims, Underwriting, and Wholesale Broking, ensuring a well-rounded education in how a top-tier brokerage operates.

Mark Williams, Head of Learning & Development, Brown & Brown (Europe), said: “We recognise that insurance isn’t always the first career choice for young people, largely because they haven’t been exposed to the diversity and excitement of the sector. At Brown & Brown, we are determined to change that.

“By launching our new Graduate Scheme and partnering with Futures For All, we are building a dedicated talent pipeline that supports individuals at every stage of their early development.

“Whether it is mastering technical underwriting or exploring the impact of AI on our industry, we are providing the tools and qualifications young people need to succeed. This is an investment in our future, and the future of the insurance industry as a whole.”

Nick Brook, CEO, Futures For All said: “The insurance industry plays a vital role in the UK economy, yet many young people have little exposure to the careers it offers. This initiative with Brown & Brown will help more students gain insight into the sector and the opportunities it provides.

“This partnership is an important step in helping ensure that more young people can access professional careers based on their talent and potential.”
