Carole Nash, one of the UK’s leading motorcycle insurance brokers, has partnered with Pedalsure, the country’s top pedal cycle insurance provider.
Carole Nash recognises and understands the stong relationship between motorcyclists and cyclists with a recent customer survey revealing that 90% of its motorbike insurance customers also own a bicycle.
With over 17.5 million cyclists in the UK and 7 million bicycles sold throughout the country in the last two years alone, the UK’s cycling industry is currently riding high.
Peter McIlvenny, Business & Product Development Manager at Carole Nash, says: “Over the last few years we have seen an explosion in the popularity of cycling and we know that many of our motorbike policy holders also own bicycles, so we are thrilled to be partnering with Pedalsure to offer this to our customer base.
“Cyclists are more exposed to risk of injury than others, so when an accident happens we believe you should be given all the support you need to get back on the saddle.”
The annual Carole Nash Bikers’ Survey also revealed that half of respondents said they would choose both bike and bicycle as their favourite form of vehicle when heading out for their ideal day. But, it seems bikers still have a need for speed, with racing bicycles topping the list of bike type most likely to be owned.
The survey also found that nine out of 10 Carole Nash policy holders with a bicycle have used it in the past 12 months and as many as two-thirds state that cycling is one of their top hobbies.
Carole Nash brand ambassador of several years, World Superbike champion, Jonathan Rea, is testament to the conection, often cycling over 300 kilometres every week. In addition, British Superbike star, Leon Haslam is also a keen bicycle enthusiast.
Pedalsure has been in business since 2014 and provides comprehensive pedal cycle insurance to the UK’s ever-growing bicycle community.
