AXA Partners has entered into a multi-million-pound, long term contract with ScottishPower, enabling the energy provider to deliver home emergency cover to their customers.
The deal, which sees the two companies join forces to provide plumbing, drains and electrical insurance, will allow ScottishPower customers to benefit from a 24/7 emergency response service, should these problems occur in their home.
This new partnership sees AXA Partners advancing into the utilities market, with thousands of ScottishPower customers expected to take advantage of the new services.
Only 18 per cent of home contents insurance policies include home emergency cover, such as plumbing, drainage and electrical issues, as standard. This new partnership ensures ScottishPower customers are covered through their utility provider.
Neil Clitheroe, CEO of Retail at ScottishPower, said: “Joining forces with AXA Partners enables us to build on our existing partnership strategy, delivering a wider range of products and services to help our customers keep their homes running smoothly. This takes us further along in our journey towards becoming the Utility of the Future and delivering a better future, quicker.”
Following the launch of AXA Partners last year, the utilities sector has become a key new market for the company to explore. Charles Dennison, Sales Director at AXA Partners, commented: “Moving into the utilities market is a very exciting prospect for us, and we are thrilled to be doing so with ScottishPower.
“It was the right move for both parties due to our respective market experience, credibility and shared value for innovation.”
As customers’ needs change, and the connected home and electric vehicles become commonplace in the UK, AXA Partners’ ambition is to expand further into the utilities market with additional partnerships, products and services.
