Specialist insurer Beazley has appointed Ulrich Schaller to lead the development of its specialty lines offering in Germany from 1st April 2019.
The portfolio includes financial lines products for both commercial organisations and financial institutions (FI) including directors and officers (D&O) liability, professional liability and FI crime cover. It also includes blended products for investment managers and private equity firms and cyber products.
Mr Schaller will also be responsible in Germany for myBeazley, the award winning e-trading platform for specialist insurance products for small and medium sized businesses.
Mr Schaller brings a wealth of knowledge and 15 years’ underwriting experience to this new role. He will report to Lorena Segovia, Beazley’s financial lines regional manager and joins Beazley from QBE Insurance (Europe) where his most recent role was portfolio manager for financial & specialty markets in Germany. Before that he spent almost 10 years at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty in different financial lines underwriting roles, most recently as senior underwriter for financial institutions.

Beazley has been expanding its product offering in Germany since opening an office in Munich a decade ago. In Germany it also provides reinsurance solutions and mergers & acquisitions insurance.
