Legal News: Horwich Farrelly Expands Training Contract Scheme

Horwich Farrelly, the leading specialist insurance law firm, continues to invest in the next generation of legal professionals after awarding training contracts to twelve employees across the business. This latest round of achievements takes the total number of training contracts awarded for the year to an outstanding 18.

Horwich Farrelly is one of the only practices operating in the insurance sector to exclusively offer training contracts to existing employees. As applicants have already gained significant experience managing a caseload and taking cases to trial, the training programme is accelerated from the standard two year period to just 18 months.

As part of its commitment to providing more opportunities for career progression, Horwich Farrelly is increasing the number of ways for employees to apply for a training contract. In the past, applications were accepted in December (to start the following March), but a second window has now been introduced.

Commenting on the latest trainee intake, Claire Fox, Partner and Training Principal at Horwich Farrelly said: “The level of talent we have seen through this process has been really impressive both in terms of quality and commitment. It is very important for us to be able to nurture people from within the business not only to provide opportunities for emerging talent but also to help us meet the demands of a growing client base as well as building a strong foundation for the future.

“Our training scheme underpins our ethos of ‘growing our own’ and sits alongside our highly successful apprentice scheme, which offers excellent opportunities to those who have perhaps not previously considered a legal career.”

Rabiah Singh, one of the 12 awarded a training contract and a Litigation Executive in the firm’s fraud department, said: “The secret of getting ahead is getting started and I have enjoyed an incredible three years at Horwich Farrelly. They have now given me a fantastic opportunity to take the next step in my career by starting my training contract. I’m nervous and excited at the same time but this scheme is an opportunity that will allow me to learn, develop and accomplish my goals and for that I am extremely grateful.”
