Cover Genius, the global insurtech leader whose insurance distribution platform provides protection for the customers of some of the world’s largest online companies, has announced the appointment of Peter Smith, to oversee the company’s new and existing partnerships with the largest travel brands across the UK, Europe, the Middle East & Africa. This appointment follows the company’s recent Series B funding round, which raised US$10million to support its investment in talent and continued global growth across the UK, the US and Asia.
Peter brings with him 20+ years of travel industry experience and will leverage his expertise and insights to expand the company’s existing travel partnerships and steer the rapid growth of its travel business into new regional markets.

Prior to joining Cover Genius, Peter was the Head of New Business at Holiday Extras, a UK & European market leader in travel extras. Peter was instrumental in developing partnerships to enhance their customer experience and drive incremental revenue with the addition of airport parking, airport hotels, lounges, and travel insurance.
Previous to this, he gained crucial insight into ecommerce platforms as Head of Sales (UK) for CarTrawler, and during his time with TravelSupermarket.com and Moneysupermarket.com, where he worked closely with the founders to build a leading price comparison website.
