Property claims specialist Qlaims has successfully raised £1m in a second round of seed funding led by West Hill Corporate Finance. The raise completes Qlaims’ seed funding raise of £2.3m. The investment will be used to accelerate the growth of Qlaims’ secure video streaming platform and claims advocacy insurance cover.
Qlaims comprises technology provider QlaimsTech, which supplies video streaming and drone technology to insurers, loss adjusters and brokers, and MGA Qlaims Insurance, which delivers a professional claims preparation and negotiation service for valid commercial property claims of over £5,000.
Qlaims CEO, Malcolm Harvey says: “The successful close of this fundraise is testament to the strength of the company’s proposition and its team. Since lockdown we have experienced a surge of intermediaries keen to take up our offer of free video-streaming with every Qlaims Insurance agency taken up.
“Brokers are using our free video streaming not only for claims but also for pre-risk surveys, mid- term variations and any visit where evidential footage is required. We are becoming an integral part of the new norm for working.
“We are pleased to see so much interest in Qlaims Insurance and its newly updated loss recovery insurance, which forms part of the industry’s response to the FCA’s requirement to improve the customer claims journey. This together with recent events highlight the benefit of having a professional loss adjuster present their case to insurers and advocate on their behalf.”
