Here is a round up of the latest senior appointments and job shuffles that we’ve heard about;
Zurich Insurance Group
Zurich Insurance Group (Zurich) has appointed Sierra Signorelli (pictured above) to an expanded role as Group Chief Underwriting Officer, while Group Claims, led by Ian Thompson, will move to Commercial Insurance. Both Ms. Signorelli and Mr. Thompson will report to James Shea, CEO of Commercial Insurance. These changes are effective as of October 1.
Ms. Signorelli, who is currently Chief Underwriting Officer for Commercial Insurance, will in her new role oversee the underwriting function across the Group. By bringing underwriting under one leader and structure Zurich will sharpen its underwriting focus and continue to improve capabilities across the organization. Ms. Signorelli will continue focusing on solidifying the underwriting culture by balancing experience, local and technical knowledge with investment in data, ensuring underwriters are well-positioned to make the appropriate risk selection decisions.
Ms. Signorelli has more than 20 years of underwriting experience having held leadership positions in the United States and Asia Pacific. Since joining Zurich in 2017, she has successfully repositioned the Commercial Insurance underwriting function and strengthened its resilience. She has been instrumental in helping to deliver differentiated services and products that meet customers’ evolving needs and expectations.
Group Claims will become part of the Commercial Insurance organization and Ian Thompson will continue to serve as Group Chief Claims Officer. Under Mr. Thompson’s leadership over the past two years, Group Claims has made significant strides to develop technical and people capabilities, drive the utilization of digitalization and automation across the organization and enhance the overall customer experience.
Elaine Dixon joined Prestige Underwriting as Commercial Relations Manager.
An experienced Relationship Manager with a background in High Net-worth Underwriting, Elaine joins Prestige Underwriting from Saga where she held the role of Home Panel Manager, responsible for analysing product performance and managing relationships with external suppliers and partners to ensure commercial targets were achieved. In her new role, Elaine will support the Commercial Relations Directors to govern and develop the insurer relations strategy, operational management and training and development.
Thatcham Research is pleased to announce the appointment of Miller Crockart as Chief Revenue Officer. In this newly created role, Miller will be responsible for revenue generation and developing strategic partnerships to support Thatcham Research’s increasingly ambitious research agenda. Miller will report to Jonathan Hewett, Chief Executive.

Miller joins from HORIBA MIRA where he was Chief Commercial Officer. Prior to this, he spent seven years in Germany as Global Vice President for Sales & Marketing, and a management board member, at the PTV Group software and data house, which was acquired by Porsche Automobil Holdings SE in 2017.
Two new Senior Developers have joined to strengthen the Synetiq team’s capacity, as the business prepares for the next chapter of its capabilities.
Sean Maller is the latest addition to the .Net Team, and will focus on software improvement, ensuring SYNETIQ remains a market leader in innovation and process.
Robert Ralston is the latest addition to the AWS development team and brings his experience gained in the Fleet Management industry, making him ideally placed for the role. SYNETIQ is a leading provider of Green Parts and Mechanical Solutions to fleets across the UK; Robert’s knowledge of CRM system development will enhance client and customer experience.
Navya Areti joins as Amazon Web Services (AWS) DevOps Engineer, and will be working closely with SYNETIQ’s IT development teams. Navya’s background is in the creation of cloud infrastructure – she will help the team move projects into the cloud, reduce cost, improve reliability, and continue to plan for the future.
