Global insurtech leader Cover Genius has today announced a partnership with the UK’s largest coach operator. National Express has teamed up with Cover Genius to provide its passengers with tailored insurance products when travelling on their unrivalled UK-wide national network of scheduled coach services.
Customers will be able to choose from options matched to their individual journey and destination including protection for cancellation, luggage or delay and medical benefits; provided via easy-to-understand policy documents with digital claims processing and instant claim payments.
Cover Genius’ XCover platform provides regulated insurance policies for customers of the world’s largest online companies, in more than 60 countries and 50 US states. Via the partnership, National Express will also have access to the insurtech’s data analytics platform, Brightwrite, and will be able to better understand customer needs, and price sensitivities and thus optimise every aspect of the product to continuously improve customer experiences.
Future roadmap plans include introducing new products for event attendees, as well as tailored travel insurance bundles for customers booking on airport services.
John Boughton, Commercial Director for National Express UK Coach, said: We are committed to offering the best customer experience, from value and convenience to safety and reliability. Our partnership with Cover Genius will allow us to continue using world-first technology to provide industry leading services including tailored insurance, instead of the static one-size-fits all policies; and give peace of mind to our customers.”
Head of Partnerships, EMEA for Cover Genius, Daniel Poole, said: “Our data shows that hyper-relevant insurance products within the point of sale are adding safety and certainty. In fact, our partners have seen attach rates for insurance grow by 200% in Europe after growth initially peaked at 1,200% in March. We are excited to partner with National Express and welcome them as the newest addition to our network of global brands who use XCover to deliver personalised insurance offerings to customers all over the world.”
