ISC Group’s UK Director, Lara Pedley has been promoted to Global Managing Director as ISC Group sets the bar for further global expansion.
Lara joined the insurance sector in 2016 and now works as the Global Managing Director for ISC Group where she is responsible for executing the global strategy of the group as well as managing operations in each region. Lara will be responsible for launching an ISC Group franchise model and building on the strength of local ISC regions. Further to this, Lara will start work on launching the business in APAC and LATAM as well as continuing to spread across EMEA.
ISC Group’s mission is better retention, attraction, and promotion of women in the insurance industry and to aid culture change in leadership to support gender equity, and now Lara’s vision is to target all women in the insurance industry across the globe.

Verex Group, the market leader in dedicated connected services to vehicle manufacturers, has appointed Mark Aryaeenia as Group CEO to deliver the company’s new ‘Protex’ strategy and expanding portfolio of connected data services. He assumed the role on Feb 1st following 3 years as a key member of the executive team at Verex. His previous experience in managing digital and tech led organisations has been fundamental in the transformation and development of the new Group strategy.
Aryaeenia will lead the executive team and oversee the implementation of the new and enhanced connected services strategy to a growing list of UK vehicle manufacturers. The Group is now working with 13 leading vehicle brands and will be using cutting-edge data and digital capabilities to deliver the new range of vehicle manufacturer branded services to complement and expand the current range of insurance products and services.
The new connected services will deliver a more customer service orientated experience, a streamlined approach to accident management and the claims process and create added value into the branded network. These leading tech solutions will also help automate and control claims for insurers and increase parts and repair referrals to vehicle manufacturers.
Sovereign Claims LLC, a leading insurance risk management consultancy serving underwriters to the real estate development, general contracting and construction industries, announces the appointment of John Humphreys and Neal Conolly to its executive team. Humphreys steps into the newly created role of chief claims officer, while Conolly joins as president. Founder Timothy Gallagher, who previously served as president, will now serve as chief operating officer.
Humphreys’ and Conolly’s addition to the team underscores Sovereign Claims’ commitment to expanding and enhancing its services in New York City and beyond. McGuireWoods is expanding its insurance recovery capabilities with the arrival of partners Anthony (Tony) P. Tatum, Shelby S. Guilbert Jr. and Joseph M. Englert, who advise leading public and private companies, including financial institutions, energy-based clients and healthcare providers, in insurance coverage and related complex commercial disputes.
Tatum, Guilbert and Englert have assisted clients in recovering over $2 billion in insurance coverage over the past three years alone. They represent clients in state and federal courts throughout the country and in domestic and international arbitration tribunals, including complex cross-border matters involving the London, Bermuda and Asian insurance markets.
They have extensive experience litigating and advising clients regarding claims arising under all major lines of commercial insurance, including commercial general liability; cyber liability; property damage and business interruption; directors and officers (D&O) liability; errors and omissions (E&O); professional liability; crime/fidelity bond; political risk and trade credit; representation and warranty; and other lines of insurance coverage. They join McGuireWoods’ Atlanta office from King & Spalding, where Tatum was co-leader of the insurance coverage and recovery practice.
Michel Büker has joined Willis Re to take up a dual role as Head of Lloyds Capital, Willis Re Specialty, and Head of Production, Customised Solutions, EMEA, effective 8 February 2021. Büker will be responsible for extending Willis Re’s relationships with the Lloyd’s sector and assisting the Specialty team in developing bespoke solutions for clients.
Büker has held positions with PartnerRe where he was the CEO of the entity that provided capital to Lloyd’s syndicates. Prior to that he was the Head of Global Clients and London Market business of PartnerRe. His career also includes underwriting and underwriting management roles in various territories and classes with Paris Re and AXA Re.

Mactavish, the specialist outsourced insurance buyer and claims resolution expert, has announced the appointment of Tom White as Head of Corporate Customer Solutions.
White brings thirty-five years of senior experience in the insurance industry. After a period working in the pharmaceutical sector, he moved to The Royal in 1986 and Royal Global in 1990. He later joined Zurich where he undertook a number of leadership roles including UK Head of Property and Casualty, European Head of Corporate Customer Solutions and Global Head of Distribution, a role that saw him oversee the firm’s relationship with one of its biggest broker partners.
White’s role will entail designing and arranging complex insurance programmes for Mactavish’s corporate customer base. The company is growing rapidly and has added a large number of new clients since last March – ranging from major corporations to large SMEs – due to the market reaction to the pandemic.
