IAA, Inc. (NYSE: IAA), a leading global digital marketplace connecting vehicle buyers and sellers, has appointed Peg Burr as Senior Vice President of Product Management. Burr will leverage her extensive product strategy and management expertise to further the product leadership position that IAA has established in the industry.

First Central Group (FCG) has announced that Craig Morton, its current deputy Chief Financial Officer, will succeed John Kennedy as Chief Financial Officer. After three incredibly successful years, John will be stepping back from the Group CFO role to spend more time with his family but will remain a vital and respected business leader as CEO of First Central Insurance Management (FCIM), the motor insurance broker within FCG.
John has made an outstanding contribution to the growth of the business over the last few years. He has set exceedingly high standards and has developed key capabilities that will underpin the insurance group’s continued success. He has built foundations across First Central Group’s people, systems, processes and capabilities, which Craig will continue to develop as the business moves forward. John is working closely with Craig to ensure a smooth transition to the Group CFO role and will continue to play a key role as FCIM CEO.
Hakluyt, the strategic advisory firm for corporations and investors, is pleased to announce that Claire Thomas has joined the company as a senior adviser.
Previously the Chief Human Resources Officer at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), Claire brings more than 28 years’ HR experience to the Hakluyt team. Prior to GSK, she worked at Ford Motor Company, and she has also advised the UK government. She won the European Business Woman of Achievement Award in 2007.
Claire’s appointment is another step in the development of Hakluyt’s work to help boards and CEOs make senior appointment decisions – providing insights into candidates’ capabilities and track records, to enable clients to decide who will best benefit their businesses. This work is led by Matthew Pettigrew, a London-based partner who spent a decade at McKinsey & Co before joining Hakluyt in 2014.
Resource Solutions, the leading international provider of workforce and advisory solutions, is announcing the appointment of Kristin Thomas as its new Head of North America. Kristin will be responsible for managing client services and operations in North America and implementing the business’ growth strategy.
Kristin has more than 20 years’ experience in outsourced recruitment. She joins from AMS, where she worked for seven years, most recently as Client Services Manging Director for the US. She managed key client relationships, operations and delivery, as well as the regional Talent Acquisition team, RPO projects and the build-out and implementation of the company’s Latin American operations. Prior to joining AMS, Kristin worked for Randstad Sourceright in various roles, including VP of Client Services for the Midwest and Canada, and VP of Operations and shared services.
Marsh has announced the appointment of Andy Desmond as UK & Ireland Construction Industry Leader. Mr. Desmond will report to Scot Peachey, CEO of the UK Construction, Infrastructure & Surety Practice at Marsh Specialty and Charles Beresford-Davies, Head of Industries, UK & Ireland.
In this role, Mr. Desmond will bring together construction sector, technical, placement and risk management specialists from across Marsh UK’s national and London-based specialty businesses, to support Marsh’s construction clients.
Mr. Desmond has specialised in the construction sector throughout his 25-year career. He has practiced as both broker and as a client buyer, notably as the Insurance Manager at Kier Group Plc working on projects as Crossrail, Mersey Gateway, HS2, and Hinkley Point. Since moving to Marsh over a year ago to lead the UK Business Development Team, Mr. Desmond has focused on contractor, owner and developers business.
Healix International has announced the appointment of Mike Webb (pictured) as Chairman of Healix International. Taking over Mike Webb’s role is Charlie Butcher, currently Commercial Director of the business, who has been promoted to the position of Chief Executive Officer.
By becoming Chairman, Mike Webb, who has been Healix International’s CEO for four years, will continue to be actively involved in the company’s ongoing activity. Under his leadership, Healix International has significantly improved its financial performance as well as growing its range of products and services and has seen a very strong commercial performance despite the challenges of Covid, with the Company consistently driving innovation and fostering a customer centric culture.
Charlie Butcher becomes CEO of Healix International from June 2021. Charlie joined the Company in 2006 as Finance Director and was promoted to Commercial Director in 2019. Over the last two years he has achieved considerable sales success in Europe, the USA and Asia Pacific.
Effective September 1, 2021, Scott Sayce will join Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) as Global Head of Cyber, based in London. He will steer AGCS’s cyber underwriting business, reporting to Shanil Williams, Global Head of Financial Lines, and will also lead the group-wide Cyber Center of Competence of Allianz which is embedded into AGCS. He will succeed Dr. Catharina Richter, current Global Head of Cyber Center of Competence for AGCS and Allianz Group, who will move to a new role within Allianz Group, which will be confirmed in due course.
Scott Sayce joins AGCS from AXA, where he has held a variety of increasingly senior leadership roles after joining in 2017. He started out as Global Chief Underwriting Officer Cyber within AXA’s corporate solutions division, while also being Group Chief Underwriting Officer for Cyber. In 2018 he became Group Head of Cyber, and subsequently, Group Head of Financial Lines and Cyber. Before his time at AXA, Scott was the Head of the Cyber, Technology and Life Science divisions for CNA Hardy. He started his career as a Lloyd’s insurance broker before moving to underwriting to focus on cyber and technology risks, a field in which he now has almost 20 years’ experience.
- Tim Bienek, Hippo’s Chief Insurance Strategy Officer, leads the development and execution of major insurance growth and profitability initiatives. Prior to Hippo, Tim was CEO of Tower Hill Insurance Group, the third largest homeowner’s insurance company in the state of Florida. He has also held executive positions at top insurance and financial institutions, including COO of Praetorian Financial Group, CFO of Affirmative Insurance Group, President of Hallmark Financial Group, and COO of Benfield Blanch. He holds a degree in business finance from California University at Fullerton and is a chartered financial analyst (CFA).
- Rich Primerano, Hippo’s Chief Risk Officer is responsible for overseeing the company’s capital, reinsurance, and select portfolio management practices to enhance overall operational efficiency. Rich joins from Weston Insurance where he was Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. Throughout his career, he has held financial leadership and operating roles at insurance and reinsurance companies including RenRe North America, Trenwick Re, and Centauri Specialty Insurance. Rich is a Certified Public Accountant and began his career at Deloitte & Touche where he was Senior Manager. He graduated from the University of Connecticut with the designation of Honors Scholar in accounting.
- Mike Stienstra, Hippo’s Chief Actuary, leads continuous risk evaluation and pricing, leveraging Hippo’s technology solutions to continuously optimize coverage for its customers. He joins from Chubb as Senior Vice President where he led the Personal Risk Services actuarial team. Prior to that, Mike was VP Actuarial at Ace Insurance and AVP, Actuarial at QBE North America. He graduated from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management with an M.B.A., and the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.B.A in Actuarial Science and Mathematics. Mike is a distinguished fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS).
- Chris Donahue, Hippo’s Chief Underwriting Officer, leads technical underwriting, insurance product and portfolio management, and underwriting analytics. He joins from AIG, where he was Global Chief Underwriting Officer for Personal Lines and Head of Portfolio Management, managing underwriting authorities, general underwriting practice and appetite as well as global catastrophe management. He has served as Chief Underwriting Officer for Chubb Personal Risk Services and ACE Private Risk Services, and has held positions at A.M. Best, and Prudential. He graduated with honors from Trinity College and holds CPCU and ARe designations.

Appointed to the role is Juels Copley, an insurance and financial services expert, who will be responsible for using her extensive experience to drive growth and achieve sustainable business transformation. This is as the company continues to develop innovative software solutions for the insurance and financial services industry.
Juels is a UK insurance market consultant, with a track record of delivering significant financial results at board level, serving as a non-executive director to well-known start-ups and a number of established insurance providers. Prior to this, she also worked at British multinational insurance company, Aviva, where she served as the personal lines transformation lead for UK general insurance.
This latest appointment follows on from Swiftcover founder and insurance industry stalwart, Matt Potashnick. He joined Albany Group last month as a board member and advisor to help drive growth and further develop its tech offering.
