Specialist loss adjuster QuestGates today announces a revamp of its Special Investigations Unit (SIU) with the addition of three new investigators and the adoption of new technology to deliver better quality analysis at the triage stage of a claim.
With over 20 years’ experience of special investigations, Neil Hanson joins from Sedgwick where he has spent the last decade as a complex loss investigator. He will be joined by another former colleague, Marc Hanson, (no relation) who is a seasoned investigations specialist with 16 years’ experience under his belt. In addition Chris Meredith has joined QuestGates from another adjusting firm where he was a property adjuster and will be mentored as a special investigator.
In addition to boosting the existing SIU team with these new appointments, QuestGates has also invested in building proprietary technology designed to conduct fast analysis of claims and quickly identify red flags to signpost these claims to the SIU team.
Head of SIU at QuestGates Paul Burke says: “It’s a sad truth that with so many businesses having suffered financial stress over the past 18 months and the tough economic environment that we’re likely to face for years to come, the temptation to stretch the truth of a claims event will be too great for many to resist.
“We’re not going to be following the standard industry model of reviewing claims over a certain value. Our new tech allows us to look at the potential for future loss through fast but detailed analysis of, for example, financial stresses facing a business. It’s about enabling a quicker, more accurate triage of those cases that aren’t quite right for further investigation whilst ensuring claims from honest customers are processed without any hassle.”
QuestGates Director, Colin Ganson, adds: “We’re gearing ourselves up to be able to better manage what I fear will be a surge in fraudulent commercial claims in the post-Covid world. It’s important that our team has a deep bench and that means not only bringing in highly experienced specialists, but identifying those with the right skills and mindset to grow. We’ve found that balance in Neil, Marc and Chris and are delighted to welcome them to our SIU team.”
