MNK Re Limited, the specialty Lloyd’s Broker, is pleased to announce the appointment of Philippe Bara as Associate Director – Energy and Risk Engineering.
Philippe brings with him almost thirty years of experience in the energy market across both Paris and London; including in the fields of offshore energy, windfarms, geothermal, shale gas and oil, power cables and exploration of new energy territories. He previously worked with Partner Re in London as a Senior Energy Underwriter. He will be working with Victor Akisanya who currently leads the Energy practice at MNK Re.

New Dawn Risk is delighted to announce the appointment of Elizabeth Strange to the new role of Head of Strategic Development within the firm. The role has been created as part of a fast-paced global expansion, which has also seen the recent establishment of New Dawn Risk Europe Ltd.
New Dawn Risk has already built out strong teams in professional liability and financial lines, and within technology, media and cyber. The appointment of Liz as Head of Strategic Development will enable the next stage of growth for the US and International businesses and allow New Dawn Risk to further build strategic relationships with brokers on a global basis.
Liz herself has over thirty years’ experience in the Lloyd’s market, having previously held senior positions at Hiscox, Beazley and Paragon.

HDI Global SE – UK and Ireland (HDI) is pleased to announce that Stephanie Ogden has been promoted to the role of Director of Underwriting and Distribution
In this new role, Ogden will lead HDI’s underwriting strategy across all lines of business and maintain overall responsibility for the distribution function. She will continue to report directly to Managing Director Claire McDonald.
Ogden has spent two years building the Distribution function at HDI, responsible for the distribution strategy, broker and client relationships, amplifying HDI’s presence in these key markets as a result.
On her new role, Ogden commented: “The past couple of years at HDI has been fast-paced with lots of change. It’s been incredibly rewarding to work with the fantastic people we have in our business, to see the change and deliver strong profitable growth. As a result of Stephanie’s promotion, Oliver Davies will assume the new role of Head of Distribution with responsibility for HDI’s key broker partner relationships and marketing activity. In his previous role as Distribution and Strategic Initiatives Manager, Oliver was instrumental in building deeper relationships with HDI’s broker partners and supporting global initiatives and projects.

Marcia has 30 years’ experience in corporate health and wellbeing. Senior management roles have included National Account Manager for Bupa UK, Head of SME at SimplyHealth and Director of Corporate Consulting at Lorica. Most recently, she was Managing Director of the Health and Protection Division of Stackhouse Poland, prior to its acquisition by Gallagher in 2019. There she led a multi-disciplinary team of consultants and support administrators who worked with a wide panel of insurers to achieve the best possible outcome for corporate and private clients.
Sedgwick, a leading global provider of technology-enabled risk, benefits and integrated business solutions, announced the appointment of James Norman as business development director for its international operations. In his new role, Norman will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, as well as strengthening Sedgwick’s relationships with existing and prospective clients. He will work with the company’s international operations team to ensure the delivery of best-in-class services to clients.
Norman joins Sedgwick from a global loss adjusting and insurance services firm, where he served as global head of strategy and business development for over three years. Prior to that, he was head of the insurance practice and market lead for business development and
sales in East Africa at a Big Four accounting firm. He brings to Sedgwick more than 20 years of experience in the global insurance sector, as well as a strong network of industry contacts. Norman is also unanimously recognised as a foremost expert in the insurance industry across the African continent
