Specialist insurance provider, Qdos, was recognised as the UK’s best contractor insurance provider at the prestigious Contracting Awards 2022. Qdos, a Leicestershire-based broker acquired by global insurer Tokio Marine HCC in 2018, won in the ‘Best Insurance Provider or Broker’ category.
It marks another victory for Qdos, which was recently awarded The 2022 Queen’s Award for Enterprise, in the Innovation category for its insurtech solution, which combines specialist insurance cover with Qdos’ award-winning tax compliance services.
The Contracting Awards celebrates outstanding service providers for UK freelancers and contractors, with insurance brokers, specialist accountancies, umbrella companies, banks, recruitment agencies and mortgage specialists paying tribute to the flexibility, dynamism, and entrepreneurial spirit of the contracting industry.
Having protected over 90,000 contractors with IR35 insurance and a range of additional business insurance policies for a number of decades, Qdos’ customer-centric approach, extensive knowledge of the industry and understanding of contractors’ needs impressed the judges – as did its outstanding customer reviews, a high retention rate and referrals.
Commenting on Qdos’ award win, Qdos CEO, Seb Maley, said:
“Proud is an understatement. The contracting sector has experienced unprecedented change in recent years, which has posed a major threat to this vital sector of the labour market.
“Our team has risen to the challenges presented by IR35 reform, the pandemic and an increasingly complex tax landscape to provide contractors with an exceptional range of insurance products – ones that give our customers the confidence and peace of mind needed to successfully work this way.
“I am delighted that Qdos’ expanding insurance offering has been recognised as the best in the industry. After our recent Queen’s Award win, this latest award is proof that our insurance products – which continue to benefit from the resource and expertise provided by Tokio Marine HCC – are going from strength to strength.”
