 QuestGates today announces the appointment of Glen Donaldson to the company’s board. Having joined the business as Regional Director for Ireland in 2017, Donaldson has led the QuestGates Specialist Services division for the past three years and has responsibility for teams delivering the firm’s services across cyber, contingency, environmental, agriculture and the island of Ireland. He also heads up the firm’s international partnership relationships.

CDL has appointed Manshah Yousaf to the post of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to maintain and evolve the insurtech’s cyber security posturing and safeguard its industry-leading client base as it continues to innovate in the area of insurance technology.

A Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) with over ten years’ industry experience, Manshah was formerly information security manager at connected vehicle data start-up Wejo, where he designed and implemented security features while ensuring that the business remained agile and could work at pace. He has previously held information and cyber security consultant roles at the BBC and Barclays, advising on the correct level of information security for products to protect against cyber attacks, in accordance with regulations. Manshah also holds an undergraduate degree in business computing and a master’s degree in digital forensics, as well as an MBA.


WTW has appointed Frank Schepers to lead its Insurance Consulting & Technology (ICT) business. Based in Germany, Schepers will replace Alice
Underwood who is retiring this year, and will join WTW’s Risk & Broking segment leadership team. Schepers will take up his new role in the coming weeks, following a handover period with Underwood.

Frank Schepers has been with WTW, and its predecessor companies, since 1994 when he joined as a consultant. He has held several senior leadership roles within ICT in that time, including Risk Consulting & Software leader for Germany and then Northern and Central Europe. He was appointed Head of ICT for the EMEA region between 2015 and 2018 before taking on a new role leading major, strategic projects for some of WTW’s most significant clients.

WTW has also announced the appointment of Taffy Jo Mayers (above) to the company’s Insurance Consulting and Technology business. In her new role, Mayers will lead the unit’s Commercial Lines pricing and underwriting propositions in order to help insurers modernise and thrive in this evolving

Mayers most recently served as Head of Commercial P&C and Specialty Insurance and Underwriting Transformation for EY North America. In that role she was responsible for identifying and developing strategies and technologies to assist commercial insurance carriers with automation and business modernisation initiatives to scale and future proof their operations. Prior to this, Mayers held several leadership roles at Zurich North America, including Head of Middle Markets Underwriting Transformation.


Chubb Life has announced that Jack Chang has been appointed President of the company’s life insurance operations in Taiwan that were recently acquired from Cigna. Mr. Chang is currently President of Chubb Life Taiwan. In his new role, Mr. Chang will have executive operating responsibility for Cigna Taiwan and will lead the integration, subject to regulatory approval, of the Chubb Life and Cigna Taiwan insurance operations in this market. During the integration period, Rose Huang, the current Chief Financial Officer of Chubb Life Taiwan, will serve as President of Chubb Life Taiwan. Upon completion of the integration, the combined business will operate under the Chubb Life brand in Taiwan.


The Bank of London, the next-generation technology company and the world’s first purpose-built global clearing, agency, and transaction bank, recently announced the appointment of Tam Holmes as its Co-President & Group Chief Product Officer and Member of the Group’s Executive Management Committee. As Group Chief Product Officer, Tam is responsible for oversight of the Group’s overall customer and product vision, strategy, and innovation.


Brian McBride has been elected as the new CBI President at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) held 28 June 2022. Lord Karan Bilimoria, the outgoing President, has been elected as the organisation’s Vice-President.

Brian McBride was appointed by an overwhelming majority of CBI members.

Brian is one of the country’s leading business leaders, with an extensive career in digital and tech industries. Born in Glasgow, he worked for Xerox and IBM before running Dell’s operations in the UK and Northern Europe. As Managing Director of T-Mobile, he introduced 3G in the UK, before becoming the UK CEO of Amazon, where he launched its UK operations.

Following his time at Amazon, Brian has taken on multiple portfolio roles, including as Chair of ASOS and most recently Trainline PLC, as well as being on the Board of the BBC, Abrdn PLC and is currently the Lead Non-Executive Director on the Board of the UK Ministry of Defence.


Van Ameyde Marine, the Netherlands-headquartered marine surveying, consultancy, and loss prevention group, has appointed Rob Chesters as its new Global Business Development Manager.

Based in the UK, Chesters has a remit to work with teams across group to develop a global strategy and service offering, with the aim of expanding the company’s international reach geographically and by market sector.

Chesters, who has more than twenty years’ business development experience in the maritime services sector, having held senior positions with Wilhelmsen Ships Service, joins Van Ameyde Marine from Oceanic Technical Solutions, where he worked with shipowners and managers to reduce their vessels’ impact on the marine environment.


Claims Portal Limited, which processes personal injury claims, has appointed Phil Dicken as its new chair.

Phil has nearly 30 years’ experience of the UK claims industry during which time he has worked with both claimant representatives and compensators alike, and brings a uniquely balanced and independent perspective to the role.

Gallagher has appointed Vickie Fox as an Account Executive in its specialist Poole-based marine practice. Vickie joins from International General Insurance Company (UK) Ltd, where she was an underwriter specialising in marine trades.

Vickie previously worked for Gallagher as a broker, and having held roles at firms including Amlin and Bluefin, Vickie returns with 20 years’ experience, most of which she has spent specialising in marine risks. She has extensive knowledge of creating tailored insurance programmes for a wide range of marine clients and is experienced in developing new business.

At Gallagher, Vickie will work alongside five other Account Executives specialising in the marine space, and will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships for marine trade clients. Gallagher’s Poole-based marine practice, previously known as Coleman Marine, offers specialist risk management advice and insurance across classes including yacht & motorboat, superyacht, marine trade & cargo and commercial craft. Based in offices on Poole Quayside the team provides a dedicated service to a range of clients from small privately owned vessels up to a number of the top 100 superyachts in the world.


Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, announced the appointment of Parul Kaul-Green, to the newly created role of Chief Digital Strategy Officer, which she takes up with immediate effect. 

Kaul-Green is responsible for driving the digital strategy for underwriting and developing a long-term roadmap to ensure that LSM is at the forefront of the digital evolution across its global markets. This includes the transition of existing business to digital channels. She leads a team of digital experts across the globe reporting to Phil Hobbs, President and Managing Director at LSM.  She is based in the landmark Walkie-Talkie building in London.

In addition, Carol Baker has been appointed to the new role of Head of Digital Strategy, London & Global Products, reporting to Kaul-Green.  Baker is responsible for developing LSM’s digital strategy for the region.
