Tour De Insurtech 2022: Stage One

The 2022 Tour de Insurtech started at the famous Lloyd’s of London building in the City area of London at 8am today. The event aims to bring together some of the like minds in the world of insurtech and is sponsored by Genasys Technologies, The Dynamo, Percayso-Inform and Sundays cyling insurance brand.

Despite the sad passing of Queen Elizabeth II recently, the mood was positive for the two hour ride across the Capital, with the eleven riders finishing in Regents Park.

Insurance Edge will be adding some video clip compilations on our You Tube channel this week, with a few interviews pencilled in for the weekend.

WHY TOUR?

Good question. One thing the pandemic disrupted was the process of people sharing ideas at workplaces. So the Tour de Insurtech is a chance not only to get fitter, unwind and de-stress, but also spark conversations that help develop future thinking and new products.

“Our event is also about getting together in a unique setting to have a laugh while also enjoying the headspace that cycling creates.” notes Andre Symes from Genasys, adding

Insurtech is all about people working together with a genuine commitment to address issues impacting the insurance industry and its diverse range of customers. Great ideas often spark in unusual settings and from informal conversations away from the parameters of ‘work’, so there’s the very real possibility that this year’s team of riders could develop ideas and collaborations which could positively support the evolution of our industry. It’s an exciting prospect!”

Always time for a quick selfie on the Tour.

Tomorrow’s stage will start from the Royal Hotel Tunbridge Wells and features Chris Carney, Sam Theron, Richard Rhee, Andrew Grinalds, Sean Jones, Mike Laurenson, Andrew Charlton, Kobus Mare, Dan Fiehn, Nick Cape. It features some scenic roads, a few challenging hills and a welcome cake stop in Chiddingstone.

SCHEDULE UPDATE;

The final stage of Tour de Insurtech 2022, scheduled for 19th September, is cancelled due to the State funeral of HM Queen Elizabeth II. So the Saturday Stage is the last of this year’s event, with the finish line being at Dynamo in Putney.
