There are many ways for insurance brands to build loyalty when it comes to pet insurance, here’s the word;
With news that the average energy bill for a typical household will be £2,500 a year, 96% higher than the winter of 2021, dog owners still don’t plan to reduce what they spend on their four-legged friends according to new data from Biscuit Pet Care and Animal Friends Insurance. Any pet parent knows that pets are more than just an animal, but new research from Biscuit and Animal Friends shows just how important dogs are to us.
Despite the cost-of-living crisis, 80% of dog owners surveyed said they did not plan to reduce what they spend on their canine companion with 25% of these saying they would choose to spend less on other things rather than reduce what they spend on their dog.
Patricia Gardiner from Animal Friends said, “We know that dogs are part of the family, but our research reveals that owners will prioritise them even when their wallets are under pressure. Despite the rise in the cost of living, most owners don’t plan to change what they spend on their dog. And those that do expect to feel the pinch this winter said they would rather cut back in other areas than reduce what they spend on their dog.”
But despite the rising concerns about household costs, the good news is that our four-legged friends can now help us to save money. The launch of the Biscuit Pet Care app means that dog owners across the UK could get money back for walking their dog and engaging in other wellbeing activities.
Through the Biscuit app, dog owners can earn ‘Biscuits’ (points) worth up to £25 in the first month and up to £23 each following month by completing personalised wellbeing activities that help their pet to become happier and healthier. They can also earn extra rewards for uploading their dog’s flea and worm treatments. All together this could add up to £288 of rewards per year, depending on the level of pet activity. The app is refreshed on a regular basis with new and exciting rewards on offer.
Pawsome rewards for pets
Claire Greenyer, from Biscuit Pet Care said, “Biscuit’s unique pet wellbeing programme supports pet parents to make the right choices and act in the best interest of their pets’ individual needs. By incentivising and rewarding pet parents for their engagement with the app’s wellbeing activities, we hope to engender a nation of healthier, happier pets whilst reducing the cost and uncertainty of pet ownership.”
Animal Friends Insurance is joining Biscuit Pet Care on their mission to get more dogs active while putting money back into pet owners’ pockets. They are offering their dog customers 100 extra Biscuits when they join, plus exclusive access to upcoming competitions and bonuses.
