ALLIANZ GLOBAL
Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) announces that Jarrod Schlesinger has been appointed Regional Head of Financial Lines in North America, effective Feb. 13, 2023, reporting to Bill Scaldaferri, President and CEO of AGCS North America, with a matrix reporting line to Vanessa Maxwell, Global Head of Financial Lines. Based in New York, Schlesinger replaces Joseph Caruso who has left the company.
Schlesinger joins AGCS from Chubb where he most recently held the title of Chief Operating Officer, North American Financial Lines. In this role, he developed the division’s operational strategies in addition to leading the management liability business. Prior to COO, he served in a variety of senior roles, including Executive Vice President within Financial Lines for Chubb for nearly 14 years.
Prior to Chubb, Schlesinger held leadership roles with AIG in New York and The Lexington Insurance Company where he managed the Lloyd’s of London Operation for AIG in the United Kingdom. He holds an MBA in finance from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, a JD from the Cordozo School of Law and a BA in Economics from Emory University.
“Jarrod has a stellar track record in the Financial Lines arena and is well-respected for his product strategy and market knowledge critical to growing our portfolio in North America,” stated Scaldaferri. “I have no doubt he will be a phenomenal team leader, ready to take our business to the next level, particularly in the Large Corporate category.”
NEW HEAD OF MARINE
Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) also announced the appointment of Philip Graham as the new Head of Marine for Regional Unit London (RUL) & Nordics and the Global Product Lead – Marine Liability. Joining in April, Philip will lead AGCS’ Marine portfolio and team across the UK, Ireland, and Nordics.
He will report to Nadia Côté, Managing Director of Regional Unit London and Nordics, and to Global Head of Marine at AGCS, Ulrich Kadow. Philip will be based in the London office of AGCS, Allianz’s entity for large-scale corporate and specialty risks. He succeeds Andrew Whitehouse who is leaving to pursue external opportunities outside the Allianz Group.
APOLLO
Apollo, the independent specialist insurer and reinsurer, announces the appointment of Caroline Stanley to build out ports and terminals business within its marine energy liability class, effective immediately.
Stanley brings significant experience to the new role, having specialised in ports and terminals for more than 15 years. Since beginning her insurance career at Navigators she has held a number of increasingly senior underwriting roles across The Hartford Group companies.

He has extensive experience in fundraising, Initial Public Offerings, (IPOs), and M&A transactions. As CFO, Ben Ezer will lead Novidea’s financial activities, including accounting and controllership, financial planning and analysis, taxes, and overall budgets across all territories. Rob is an FLTA qualified engineer whose early career was as a field service engineer maintaining fork lift trucks. His passion is motor sports and his in-depth knowledge of car repair and maintenance comes from having built his own racing car which he races in the BRSCC Modified Ford Series. He has become a well-known figure in online motor sports commentary, running a motor sports podcast for UK Club Racing since 2020 and as the official commentator for the C1 Racing Series.
HDI GLOBAL
In line with its aim to further expand the Captive solutions business internationally, HDI Global is appointing Jason Tyng to the newly created role of Lead of U.S. Captive Solutions. Tyng will guide the strategic and operational plans for this critical function. Given the importance of the U.S. market to the Captive solutions business, this decision is in line with HDI Global’s strategy to offer industrial clients tailor-made solutions and services on a global scale whilst maintaining local client proximity.
Bringing more than 15 years of sales and leadership experience across the commercial insurance industry, Tyng joins HDI Global from Amazon, where he recently served as Head of Construction Risk, handling placements of both international and domestic programs.

IO.INSURE
M&A Tech and InsurTech firm io.insure – creator of ‘Mio’, the world’s first online mergers and acquisitions (M&A) insurance marketplace for small and medium-sized business (SME) transactions – has appointed Ian Hutchinson as Senior Partner in Asia-Pacific (APAC).
Based in Singapore, Hutchinson will be responsible for developing strategic partnerships that will enable the evolution of io.insure’s marketplace platform, which also digitises financial lines and other specialty insurance products.
The io.insure platform was created in response to the growing demand from brokers and insurers, as well as legal, accounting and private equity professionals and banks to digitise insurance and deliver a better customer experience. In this role, Hutchinson will also lead distribution, sales and product development to enable multiple partners to efficiently leverage io.insure’s cutting-edge technology.
Hutchinson brings over 15 years’ experience across business development, M&A law, in-house counsel, product development, strategy, operations, and general management roles. Based in Asia over the last six years, he most recently led the Singapore business of Hyphen Group, one of the region’s largest fintech companies as General Manager, where he was also responsible for the company’s Singapore insurance brokerage. He previously held the roles of General Counsel and Chief of Staff at Hyphen. Prior to this, he practised as an M&A lawyer including stints at the Dublin offices of law firms William Fry and Eugene F. Collins (part of Addleshaw Goddard).
