Just added – a New York Stage;
Tour de Insurtech 2023 will – for the first time – include a special New York City stage, Genasys Group CEO André Symes announced on LinkedIn over the weekend, enabling insurance, insurtech and fintech professionals across the pond to participate without the added jet lag.
Industry legend Nigel Walsh, Managing Director, Insurance at Google, will lead the cycle ride around Central Park on Saturday 16 September. Starting at 10am at Columbus Circle, there will be four laps of the park, followed by the best bagels and coffee in the ‘Big Apple’. Meanwhile, UK riders will be pedalling the 105km from Reading to London.
Anyone interested in joining the NYC stage, or any of the seven UK stages (which will pass through London, Tunbridge Wells, Nottingham, Reading and Bath), is invited to get in touch at tourdeinsurtech@genasystech.com by Wednesday 2 August.

Genasys Technologies’ Tour de Insurtech returns for the third year in a row this September (11 – 18), with over 50 riders from across the insurance industry expected to tackle 515 kilometres across seven stages, passing through London, Tunbridge Wells, Nottingham, Reading and – for the first time ever – Bath. With the closing date for entries fast approaching (2 August), this is the final call to get involved.
The Tour de Insurtech originated when cycling enthusiast André Symes, Group CEO at Genasys, came up with the idea as a way of bringing people from across the industry together to reconnect after many months of lockdowns during the pandemic. The event, which has quickly become an annual staple in the industry calendar, is not just an excuse to break out the lycra. It’s also an opportunity for professionals to come together to share their passion outside of the usual conferences and calls.
Since its inaugural race in 2021, the Tour de Insurtech has consistently attracted 40+ participating riders each year. The Genasys team is ready for another excellent turnout in 2023 – even if some haven’t touched their bikes since Tour de Insurtech 2022! This year, there will be a combination of loops and point-to-point stages, including the 60-kilometre ‘fast stage’ finale in the Herne Hill Velodrome, where budding racers can earn their bragging rights for the year.
