SOMPO
Sompo International, a leading global provider of commercial and consumer property and casualty (re)insurance, has announced the appointment of Jérôme Gossé as Head of Cyber Insurance, Continental Europe. He will report to Mathieu Borneuf, Head of Professional Lines, Insurance, Continental Europe.
Mr. Borneuf said: “With 15 years’ experience in the cyber insurance market, Jérôme brings extensive industry knowledge to a line of insurance that has experienced significant growth. Working alongside our global team of cyber insurance specialists, he is well-positioned to deliver cyber solutions that meet the needs of our broker partners and clients across Continental Europe and beyond.
Mr. Gossé joins Sompo International from Chubb European Group, where he was Head of Cyber for Continental Europe and the MENA region. Before this, he worked for Zurich in Paris and Marsh in Toronto and Paris.
TEDAISY
UK Pet Insurance specialists, Tedaisy Insurance Group (Tedaisy), is pleased to announce the appointment of Louise Walker as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This strategic move is designed to bolster Tedaisy’s expansion efforts and position the company for continued growth.
With a distinguished career in the insurance and financial sector, Louise brings a wealth of experience to her new role at Tedaisy. Over the past four years, she has served as the Vice President of Finance at Zego, a dynamic insurtech start-up, overseeing a period of remarkable growth. Prior to her role at Zego, Walker held the position of Financial Director at prominent insurance brokerage firms, The Ardonagh Group and Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.
AEGIS LONDON
Lloyd’s insurer AEGIS London has appointed Viren Patel as head of risk. Patel will lead AEGIS London’s risk team, focusing on areas such as Internal Model Validation, ORSA (Own Risk and Solvency Assessment) and risk reporting.
Before joining AEGIS London, Patel held the role of head of risk at Starr Companies for five years with a focus on core ERM, Internal Model Validation and ESG. Prior to that position, he held a number of London market risk and actuarial roles, specifically within capital modelling and validation. He also spent a number of years working at Lloyd’s.
Patel will be reporting into Graeme Tennyson, Chief Risk and Compliance Officer at AEGIS London. Commenting on his appointment, Tennyson said: “We are delighted that Viren has joined our team. He brings with him in-depth knowledge of the industry and a wealth of experience. His understanding of the risk management landscape in the Lloyd’s market will support our clients and the wider business. He is an excellent addition to the AEGIS London risk team, and his appointment further strengthens our capabilities in this critical area.”
GENERALI
Generali Global Corporate & Commercial (GC&C) announces two strategic appointments to strengthen its leadership team in Asia. Danny La has been appointed as the Head of Strategic Initiatives & Business Transformation Asia as of August 1st and Matthew Day as the
new Head of Risk Engineering & Loss Prevention Asia as of August 15th.
On his appointment Danny La shared, “I am excited to join Generali Global Corporate & Commercial and look forward to working with the team on strategic initiatives that will enhance our product offerings, grow our market presence, and create long-term value for our clients in Asia.” La joins Generali from Swiss Re, where he worked with insurance clients across the region on data-driven platforms and solutions that supported their growth, profitability and efficiency goals. Prior to that, La had spent more than 8 years with QBE in a range of strategic and operational roles across Australia, the UK and Hong Kong.
DWF
DWF, the global provider of integrated legal and business services, has continued its growth with the addition of insurance partner Andrew Symons. Andrew joins the DWF London Global Risks team following 11 years at DLA Piper. He is well established in the insurance and reinsurance markets, with over 30 years’ experience advising clients on cutting edge disputes and case law in dispute resolution, litigation and arbitration.
Primarily focusing on financial lines insurance claims and reinsurance, Andrew’s work includes representing insurers in professional indemnity and management liability, and more specialist areas of warranty and indemnity and cyber; and reinsurance, advising clients on coverage and disputes.
ALLIANZ COMMERCIAL
Allianz Commercial has announced changes to the Board of Management of Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty SE (‘AGCS SE’ as the legal entity of Allianz with Board responsibility for Allianz Commercial) that reflect its strategy of integrating the Allianz Mid Corporate (MidCorp) business alongside its Large Corporate (LargeCorp) and Specialty portfolios to create one face to market across its eleven trading regions. Dirk Vogler, currently Chief MidCorp Transformation Officer, will take over as Chief Regions & Markets Officer 1 as of October 1, assuming responsibility for the Allianz Commercial markets of Germany & Switzerland, Central & Eastern Europe, Benelux & Nordics, Southern Europe, Iberia, and Asia.
In this role, Vogler succeeds Henning Haagen. After 15 years at Allianz including as a Board Member of AGCS SE since early 2020, Haagen has decided to step down as CRMO1 to take his next career steps outside Allianz. Consequently, the AGCS SE Board of Management reduces from nine to eight members.
BUGCROWD
Bugcrowd, the multi-solution crowdsourced cybersecurity platform, has announced the appointment of Rally Ventures Partner and former Bugcrowd interim CEO Michael Jennings as Board Chair and Netskope APAC Chief Information Officer & Chief Security Officer David Fairman to its Advisory Board, along with a handful of top technology veterans to its leadership team.
The appointments come at a time of significant expansion of the company’s global workforce and market depth of the platform, along with unprecedented revenue growth.
Michael holds over 30 years in IT leadership and business development. Prior to joining Rally Ventures in 2018, he was CEO of Secure-24, a leading provider of comprehensive managed IT services, where he led the company through nearly 200% growth over 6 years and the successful sale to NTT Communications in 2018. He was also the co-founder, Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Business Development at Appshop, a leading provider of hosted Oracle application and database technology.
David Fairman has held leadership roles at NAB, Royal Bank of Canada, JP Morgan Chase and Royal Bank of Scotland and Fortune 500 companies across the UK & EU, North America and APAC. David holds a number of positions on boards of directors for various cyber and fraud tech companies and was a founding member of the Security Advisor Alliance, and the Canadian Cyber Threat Exchange.

Chartered insurance broker Verlingue Ltd. (Verlingue) has appointed two new client directors to its recently established Birmingham office. The additions are part of the broker’s strategy to expand across the Midlands and Southwest region by providing its full range of risk management, broking, and employee benefits propositions to corporate and mid-corporate sized businesses.
James Hall (PICTURED) has joined as Client Director, and has over 12 years insurance broking experience, most recently at broker Gallagher where he was a Corporate Account Executive, having started his broking career at Jelf Insurance Brokers in 2011.
Sam Foster also joins as Client Director. He has over six years’ experience of insurance broking, having previously worked at brokers PIB Group and WW Group.
INVER RE
Inver Re has launched an integrated global index practice, following the appointment of Tom Johansmeyer.
Tom joined Inver Re as Global Head of Index from Verisk, where he led its Property Claim Service (PCS). During his seven-year tenure he oversaw the creation, expansion and adoption of loss indices – third party data sources which trigger when a claim is paid out. Tom holds an MA in global diplomacy from the University of London where he completed a dissertation in political violence and is completing a PhD in international conflict analysis focusing on cyber insurance and economic security at the University of Kent. His research has been published in academic journals and provided a foundation for new approaches to risk and capital management in challenging lines of business.TOKIO MARINE
Tokio Marine Kiln announces the appointment of Liam Burke, ACII to its Life Sciences division as underwriter, effective immediately.
Burke will be second in seniority to TMK’s head of life sciences, Kirsten Shastri, who he will report to. He joins from Beazley, where he served as a US specialty programmes underwriter, a complex multiclass role.
At TMK he will be responsible for the growth and development of its globally available (ex-US) IntelliMed product, which offers specialist and bespoke coverage for life sciences risks ranging from traditional medical devices, pharmaceuticals and clinical trials through to novel innovations including smart medtech products, telemedicine and health apps.

Possessing excellent credentials, Richard joins from Gallagher and has previously worked at a number of companies within the industry including Bupa Global, with roles including Director People Experience Consulting, Head of Corporate Sales, Head of Intermediaries and SVP Head of Employee Benefits. He will be leading a large team of consultants and will be reporting to Chris Saunders, Head of Commercial PMI at Towergate Health & Protection.
