Lockton Expands Nordic Region Team, With Four New Hires

Latest from Lockton, who are expanding their presence in the Nordic region;

Lockton, the world’s largest independent insurance broker, has announced the appointments of Christen Thorbjørnsen, Harry Nilsen, Nikolai Jørgensen and Sigbjørn Larsen to its Energy, Renewables and Property divisions in Norway. These appointments mark the latest additions to Lockton’s rapidly growing Nordic team as it continues to invest and expand its proposition to clients in the region. Starting this month, the team will be fully operational to service clients effective from 1^st January 2024.

Christen and Harry are industry veterans, and both join from Willis Towers Watson (WTW) in Norway, where they served as Global Client Directors focusing on property, major oil & gas and renewable energy firms, both onshore and offshore.

Nikolai brings almost a decade of marine and energy expertise to Lockton, most recently as a broker and trainee lawyer at WTW.

Sigbjørn joins from Bane NOR, Norway’s largest infrastructure owner, where he held the role of Head of Insurance. He began his career as an assistant underwriter at AIG in 2000, before joining Hydro Oil and Energy as its Insurance Manger.

These series of hires mark the latest additions to Lockton’s rapidly expanding Nordic team, following the arrival of Øyvind Larsen earlier this month to lead the country’s People Solutions practice. Just last month, a further senior hire, Johan Frithioff, was announced for Lockton Sweden.

Lockton is dedicated to attracting market-leading talent as it continues to invest in its Associates in the region. Looking ahead, the company aims to welcome additional senior professionals, enhancing both depth and capabilities to better serve its clients in response to the evolving market landscape.
