Insurance Sector Returners Wanted: Your Skills Are Valued

The demand for skilled and qualified people in the insurance sector remains high, so it makes sense to help returners back into the fold. Here’s the word;

Career Returners and the Insurance Family Network have launched the ‘Insurance Cross-Company Returner Programme’ for 2024 in partnership with five industry firms: Ageas UK, Fidelis MGU, First Central, Howden and Markel International.

Experienced professionals often take time out to care for children and elderly or sick relatives, to relocate, and for personal health issues.  The returner programme aims to provide a supportive route back to work after a career break of at least 18 months.

The six-month returnship programme will begin on 7th May 2024 and will provide successful candidates with opportunities across various departments in the five firms including underwriting, claims, legal, finance, distribution and technology – alongside internal mentoring and coaching from Career Returners to assist with the transition back to the workplace. There will be a strong likelihood of a permanent role at the end of programme.

Applications are open now until 29th February 2024 via Career Returners’ website: https://careerreturners.com/opportunities/insurance-cross-company-returner-programme-2024/

To help individuals prepare for the application process, workshops on how to create a compelling CV (1st February) and interview preparation (29th February) will be available.  Flexible working may also be available during and after the programme.

Hazel Little, Deputy CEO, Career Returners said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals that have been out of the corporate world for a long period and who are now ready to return to professional level work in a supportive way.  The Insurance Cross-Company Returner Programme will build a bridge between talented candidates and great employers though upskilling, Career Returners coaching, mentoring and a supportive peer group community.”

Cristina Galindo, Insurance Families Network (IFN) sponsorship lead and co-creator of the programme, said: “We at the IFN are delighted to be partnering with Careers Returners to launch this dedicated insurance programme for returners.  Our fantastic five insurance partners will be providing meaningful routes back to the industry for those that have taken a prolonged break away from insurance, while sustaining and expanding the talent network for our industry.  I’m really looking forward to working the applicants across all the milestones of the programme and encourage anyone considering applying to get in touch and ask others across the industry to promote this opportunity far and wide.”
