GAIN Welcomes Building Societies Association

 The latest from GAIN, who have welcomed the Building Societies Association to their organisation. Here’s the word;

(GAIN) The Group for Autism, Insurance, Investment and Neurodiversity is delighted to welcome the Building Societies Association (BSA), as its latest member. Established in 1869, the BSA is the voice for all 42 UK building societies, as well as 7 credit unions which collectively serve over 26 million customers across the UK.

By joining with GAIN, the BSA is signalling its commitment to championing neuroinclusion throughout its membership base of building societies and credit unions. It is hoped that by working together, GAIN and the BSA can raise awareness and stimulate action that will benefit both neurodiverse employees and customers.

Debbie Enever, Head of External Affairs, BSA writes,” The BSA welcomes the opportunity to work with GAIN to create more neuroinclusive workplaces. Mutuals organisations, like Building Societies and Credit Unions, are owned by their members, who may be customers, employees, or suppliers. Mutuals do not answer to shareholders, instead prioritising the interests of their members and communities. We want everyone to thrive in an environment that encourages diversity of thought and empowers them to use their unique skills and abilities for the mutual benefit of all.”

Liselle Appleby, GAIN Communications Lead states“Creating neuroinclusive workplaces and practices is a key part of the mission of GAIN. So often we find neurodivergent employees and customers face challenges in accessing the right support in work and life, with Mutuals, such as Building Societies and Credit Unions finding themselves at the heart of many of those life decisions. By championing neuroinclusive ethics and practices that use universal design principles, the BSA and its members position themselves as an inclusive industry, welcoming the neurodiverse.”
