SEIB Donates To Local FASD Charity

The word from SEIB Insurance Brokers, as they help out with a local charity;

SEIB Insurance Brokers LTD have donated £5,000 to Kent based charity, Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) Awareness.  A cheque from SEIB for the £5,000 was presented to Tracy and Steven of FASD Awareness on the 10th May. This latest gift follows a donation of £10,000 to FASD by the SEIB team back in 2020.

FASD Awareness is a charity that seeks to raise awareness of prenatal alcohol exposure (PAE) which is the possible effects of consuming alcohol during pregnancy. FASD is a group of conditions that can affect individuals as a result of pre-natal alcohol exposure. Individuals living with FASD can live with complex lifelong conditions including physical, mental, emotional and psychological difficulties.

Tracy Allen said: “We are so very grateful for this valuable donation from SEIB. We will look carefully at what is beneficial to the charity when it comes to deciding where this generous £5,000 goes. We were so fortunate to receive the £10,000 from SEIB in 2020 which really kept FASD going at a very difficult time. We offer many services to our FASD community. This involves anything from supporting people through the process of applying for Disability Living Allowance through to our Family Activity Days focused on supporting the FASD community.”

In addition to offering support to those living alongside and working with FASD, the charity works hard to increase public awareness of FASD and the challenges it can have on individuals, their families and society as a whole. The charity is running their #BeAware film campaign, please see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2j-bcq7DBk.

Chief Operating Officer at SEIB, Bipin Thaker said: “SEIB has supported various small charities over the past few years and it is satisfying to see the difference our donations make to the work they do. We first became aware of the work FASD Awareness does through the support they have given to a member of our team. We are delighted to be continuing to support the invaluable work FASD Awareness do in the community both in supporting those living with FASD and helping educate the general population.”
