For many companies in the insurance sector, or who have partnership arrangements with brokers or insurers, this training course could be very useful. Here’s the word;
Davies, the leading specialist professional services, consulting and technology business serving insurance and highly regulated markets, today announced that its national Skills Bootcamps for insurance and financial services have received endorsed short course accreditation from the Institute of Analytics (IoA), the professional body for analytics and data science professionals in the UK and worldwide.
Launched in January 2024 after receiving two years’ worth of government funding, Davies’ Skills Bootcamps are 12 week, flexible courses developed specifically to upskill workers in insurance and financial services with vital data skills, in order to meet the growing demands of digitalisation within the sectors.
The IoA is an internationally recognised organisation which aims to support members and partners to harness the power of data analytics to benefit the global economy. Its endorsement process involves ensuring the courses meet the highest global academic, professional and ethical standards in conjunction with industry expectations. Whilst undertaking the Skills Bootcamp, students can have the confidence knowing the skills being taught will not only upskill them in their current role but benefit their future career. Students will also become part of the largest community of analytics and data science professionals gaining recognition for their skills.
Victoria Miles, Consulting Director – Professional Education, Davies said: “I am absolutely delighted that our Skills Bootcamps in insurance and financial services have received such a coveted endorsement from the IoA. The need for enhanced data skills within both insurance and financial services is only increasing. Our digital bootcamps have been specially designed by us to upskill the existing workforce to not only plug the data skills gap, but also retain much needed talent.”
Dr Clare Walsh, Director of Education at the IoA said: “We were very impressed with Davies’ Skills Bootcamps which have been robustly designed to not only meet our Analyst Competency Framework standards and high expectations but also the specific needs of firms working within the highly regulated insurance and financial services sectors. It is essential that people working in financial services take control of the technology and this alliance shows commitment to that process.”
Davies Skills Bootcamps in Data in Insurance and Data in Financial Services are partly funded by the Department of Education and UK Government, they are free to learners, with employers expected to contribute an amount towards the training.
