MAXIS GLOBAL

 MAXIS Global Benefits Network (MAXIS GBN), has announced the appointment of Tamara Truta Amizic as Regional Business Development Manager – West US & LATAM as part of its Americas Business Development team. Tamara will be responsible for outbound business in the region and will lead the existing team, working in close partnership with MAXIS’ clients and partners.
Tamara has over 20 years’ experience in global employee benefits with expertise in sales strategy, global relationship management and business development. She joins MAXIS from one of its shareholder companies, MetLife. She was most recently responsible for leading select customer relationships within MetLife National Accounts as well as pursuing new business relationships. In her role as Global Sales and Strategy Director at MetLife between 2017 and 2020, she worked across the group to increase collaboration between MetLife US and its global businesses.
BMS GROUP
BMS Group (BMS), the independent specialist insurance and reinsurance broker, today announces the appointment of Charlie Rozes as Group CFO and executive director. Based in London, Rozes will report to Nick Cook, BMS Group CEO, and will join in November. Rozes will be taking over from Nick Moss, Group finance director, who will be retiring from the business.

Rozes’ appointment is the latest addition to BMS’s C-suite which has seen Emmanuel Clarke join as chairman, Chris Brook join as Group chief operating officer and Ali Trauttmansdorff join as Group chief people officer in the past year. It also follows an impressive recent period of growth for BMS, which saw the completion of its investment from Eurazeo and 12 acquisitions globally.

BMS JAPAN

BMS Group, the independent specialist insurance and reinsurance broker, announces the appointment of Ryo Iizuka as a Director of the Private Equity, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Tax (PEMAT) in Japan.

Based in Tokyo, Iizuka will report to Tim Hewitt, Head of BMS Japan, and joins effective immediately. BMS’s Japan office has been operational since mid-2023, and Iizuka’s appointment rounds out the local team to a dynamic trio of experts from legal, investment banking, consulting, and insurance backgrounds. Iizuka joins with a wealth of experience with large global investment banking and M&A consulting firms, having worked in senior positions including at Deloitte, Accenture, and HSBC.

DWF

DWF, the global provider of integrated legal and business services, has expanded its global Claims Management & Adjusting (CMA) offering with the addition of Darren Goldman, as Head of North America, and Antonio Herrera Sancho, Claims Director in Spain.

Darren joins DWF from the International Programs Group, where he served as President, and previously held the position of General Manager at QBE Services in Toronto, Canada. With 27 years of experience in the insurance industry, particularly within the London market, Darren brings a wealth of expertise to his new role. He will be responsible for CMA in both the USA and Canada, home to approximately 70 claims management and adjusting colleagues based in offices in Chicago, Charlotte, Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto.

Antonio has over 20 years of experience in the banking and insurance industries. His career includes positions at prominent domestic and multinational companies such as Aon, HomeServe, Allianz, RTS, Legalitas, and Santalucia. Antonio joins DWF after serving as the Strategic Partnerships Director at Santalucia, where he was instrumental in their expansion. He is our first hire for CMA in Spain, formally adding Spain to the CMA global footprint.

These appointments follow last week’s announcement that DWF has agreed to acquire Australia’s leading claims management business Proclaim.

LANTECH

SUPERSCRIPT

Superscript announces the appointment of Stephen Taylor as Head of SME Distribution.

Taylor joins from Allianz, where he has been for 13 years, the last five of which he was Head of Distribution, Digital Trading. Having overseen SME Distribution for one of the leading insurers in the market, Taylor brings a wealth of expertise across underwriting, distribution, partnerships and trading to his new role at Superscript.

SOMPO

Sompo, a leading global provider of commercial and consumer property and casualty (re)insurance, today announced the appointment of Christoph Müller as Country Manager, Insurance for Switzerland. Mr Müller (57) will be based in Zurich and report to Ralph Brand, President, Continental Europe Insurance. The appointment is effective immediately.

Mr Brand said: “Christoph is an outstanding insurance professional with exceptional leadership skills and a proven track record of success across two decades. His deep market knowledge and insights, both locally and internationally, make him perfectly placed to further continue the growth of Sompo’s business in Switzerland and I look forward to working closely with him.

Mr Müller, who has more than 20 years of insurance industry experience, joins Sompo from Allianz Risk Transfer where most recently he was CEO and Head of Distribution for Allianz Commercial Switzerland.

NORTHDOOR

James Cherry has been announced as the new CEO at London-based IT consultancy, Northdoor plc. David Ballard, the previous CEO will take on a new role as Deputy CEO and will remain within the business, involved in several key initiatives throughout 2024 and beyond. Cherry has been at Northdoor for nearly 20 years having joined the business as Consultant and Head of Technology in 2005. Ten years later he had been promoted to Chief Technology Officer before taking on the Deputy Chief Executive Officer role.
On taking on the CEO role Cherry commented:

APOLLO

Apollo, the innovative integrated insurance group, today announces the appointment of Carl Day as deputy chief underwriting officer. Day is expected to join in late 2024 and will be involved in developing the strategic direction of underwriting at Apollo, reporting to James Slaughter, Group chief underwriting officer.

Day has over 28 years’ experience in the London insurance market and will be joining Apollo from CNA Hardy where he is currently active underwriter for Syndicate 382. Prior to CNA, he spent 13 years at Hiscox as an energy class underwriter and has also held roles at BRM Syndicate 1861 and Commercial Union London Market.

James Slaughter said: “I am delighted to announce Carl’s appointment as the new deputy CUO. He has an impressive track record and has demonstrated exceptional depth and insight throughout his career. COVER-MORE

Zurich-owned global travel insurance and assistance provider Cover-More Group recently announced that David Fike, current Head of Life, Accident & Health (LAH) at Zurich Insurance Group’s (Zurich) North America business, will be the new Cover-More Group CEO, effectively immediately.

The appointment of David Fike follows Zurich’s announcement last week of an agreement to acquire AIG’s global personal travel insurance and assistance business (AIG Travel) for USD 600 million, plus a potential additional earn-out payment. The business will be combined with Cover-More Group and will significantly expand Zurich’s travel insurance and assistance footprint in the U.S. This will give Zurich access to a new global retail customer base and make it a leading travel insurer globally.

BEAZLEY

Beazley, the leading specialist insurer, has announced the appointment of Lucien Mounier as Head of Europe, Cyber Risks. Having served as Beazley’s Head of Asia Pacific (APAC) for six years, Mounier will assume his new role on the 1st July and will be based in Barcelona.  Reporting to Alessandro Lezzi, Head of International Cyber Risks,  Mounier will be responsible for the establishment and oversight of Beazley’s cyber portfolio and team across Europe.

Since 2018 Mounier has built and led Beazley’s proposition in APAC, expanding the business’s presence and successfully delivering on Beazley’s growth ambitions. Prior to this he was based in France, where he held the role of International Cyber and Technology Underwriter, Beazley. He joined Beazley from AIG, where he served as Cyber Product Leader, France.

SPECIALTY MGA

Specialty MGA UK, the managing general agent that specialises in providing additional capacity for specialty lines of business, has expanded its international property, financial lines and cyber teams by appointing Luke Bristow, Tony Loizides and Lisa Rowe as Senior Underwriters.

Welcoming them to the team, MNK Group Chairman Manoj Kumar said:

“Luke, Tony and Lisa have a huge amount of experience and will be valuable additions to our growing team.
