XPT SPECIALTY
XPT Specialty, a leading wholesale broker for commercial and personal insurance, has announced the newest addition to its leadership team, with Gina Marquez as Associate Vice President of Personal Lines. With more than 16 years of insurance underwriting experience, Marquez brings a wealth of industry expertise to XPT in strategic management and personal lines.
Marquez’s addition to XPT Specialty will help improve upon and expand the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality services. Marquez has held prior leadership positions, including Assistant Vice President at AmWINS Group, and Operations Director at Burns & Wilcox. In both former roles, she worked alongside Suzette Torres, VP of Personal Lines at XPT Specialty. Given Marquez’s reputation as a highly sought-after industry professional, this marks a significant win for XPT in growing its leadership team.
ALLIANZ PARTNERS
Joe Pattinson will lead Mobility Sales at Allianz Partners UK. Joe joins Allianz Partners after several years playing a key role in BMW’s Chinese strategy. During this time, he led the firm’s digital strategy, launched and tested several new mobility products, and developed BMW’s sustainability strategy in the region.
Joe brings in-depth knowledge and extensive experience, having spent 25 years in the automotive industry. He began his career at Royal Bank of Scotland, before joining BMW Financial Services UK where he ran the marketing department and latterly the UK insurance business.
In his new role, Joe will lead strategic relationships across the automotive sector and his focus will be on profitably growing the mobility business.
LEGAL AND GENERAL
Legal & General announces the appointment of Nicki Plews as its new Head of Product and Proposition for Retail Protection.
Plews joins Legal & General from Munich Re, where she worked as a Business Development Director responsible for managing key client accounts, driving innovative client solutions and identifying new business opportunities. She has over 16 years of experience, having previously worked at AIG Life and Swiss Re where she held various senior roles including Head of Strategy, Head of Proposition, and Senior Product Manager.
As Head of Product and Proposition, Plews will lead, shape and implement Legal & General’s protection product and proposition strategy; developing and delivering innovative and customer-centric products and propositions that meet the changing needs of customers across all distribution channels.

ROKSTONE

Rokstone, the International Speciality (Re)Insurance MGA and part of the Aventum Group, has announced the launch of a new Sports & Leisure Casualty division in the US. The division will be led by the highly experienced Charles Landrum, a master of the US commercial casualty market with 40+ years’ experience in the development of specialist solutions for the sports and leisure industry.
Charles joins from Chasgatr Consultants Inc. where he held the position of Principal Consultant. His previous experience includes Chief Underwriting Officer at Everest Re, CEO at T.H.E Insurance Company, and senior positions at Nationwide Insurance Company and Allied Insurance Holdings.
With plans to grow the team rapidly to meet market demand, this new specialist MGA has attracted A-rated capacity for admitted business across a diverse and broad range of risks, including complex and non-standard exposures – anything from small amateur sports associations to large governing bodies.
CONSILIUM

Consilium, the global speciality (re)insurance broking business of the Aventum Group, today announced the appointment of Jodie Gibbons as its newest Business Development Manager (BDM) for the Southwest. Working within the Risk Solutions team, Jodie will improve regional broker access to Lloyd’s and London market capacity across a range of specialist risks.
Jodie joins Consilium from Q Underwriting, where she held the position of Key Account Manager. Her previous experience includes business development roles at Victor Insurance UK, DUAL Corporate Risks Ltd and Rural Insurance. Jodie boasts 22+ years’ experience, and a vast network of retail brokers across the entire Wales & Southwest of England. It is an area which is often overlooked by the Lloyd’s and London market, and yet one with huge opportunity for growth, and synergies with Consilium’s Risk Solutions niche portfolio including property, casualty, cyber, professional indemnity, construction, asbestos, waste and recycling, and motor.

DAVIES

Davies has announced the appointment of Amber Wilkinson as Group Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”). Amber will join Davies later this year, reporting directly to Group CEO, Dan Saulter, as well as joining the firm’s group executive committee. Amber succeeds Davies’ senior executive, Tony Debiase, who will step down following a successful 12 years in the CFO seat.
Amber joins Davies from global law firm, DLA Piper, where she has served as CFO since 2021. Prior to DLA Piper, Amber spent more than a decade at AXA in senior leadership roles, including CFO of AXA Health, CFO of Bluefin Insurance, and Head of Mergers and Acquisitions for AXA UK & Ireland. A Chartered Accountant, Amber trained at PwC in London spending time in the firm’s audit and corporate finance practices.
Davies’ CFO appointment comes on the back of the firm announcing a £1.5 billion refinance of its senior debt facilities, reducing its annual interest bill and extending maturities to 2031 as well as securing a new credit line to support its M&A, technology and AI ambitions.
AGILE
Agile Underwriting Services (Agile) is pleased to announce that Matthew Rowan has been appointed as group risk and compliance officer. Based in Sydney, Australia, Rowan will oversee both the syndicate service company and MGA operations as well as the claims handling units and working with broking partners.
Bringing more than 25 years of experience in the insurance sector to the role, Rowan has experience of senior roles at a number of the largest broking groups in Australia, including AUB Group and Steadfast. Most recently. Rowan was the chief compliance officer for Aon’s Australian division. Prior to his relocation to Sydney in 2020, Rowan spent 10 years at Argenta group in London, rising to the position of chief risk officer and compliance director.

LM RE
LM Re, part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has announced the appointment of Mark De La Mare to the role of Head of Australia and New Zealand, effective October 2024 and reporting to James Green, Head of Property, London and John McCabe, Chief Operating Officer, Asia Pacific. De La Mare will be leading the LM Re underwriting team based in Sydney, playing a pivotal role in LM Re’s strategy for the region.
The establishment of LM Re Australia marks a significant development, replacing the ARUS MGA that previously managed LM Re’s Australasia portfolio written through Lloyd’s. The new team will continue the build out of Liberty’s existing business in Australia, and demonstrates our commitment and continuity to our clients, aligning with LM Re’s goal to provide direct and customised reinsurance solutions to our key markets.
