MEA PLATFORM

A recognized leader in global insurance, McGavick is the former CEO of XL Group (now AXA XL) and former Chairman, President, and CEO of Safeco Insurance. Nick joins Consilium from Optio, where he served as Claims Director. An ACII-qualified (re)insurance lawyer, Nick is recognised as a multi-class and jurisdictional claims specialist.

ACRISURE

 Acrisure UK Broking has announced a trio of senior appointments aimed at accelerating its UK Retail expansion, just days after revealing plans to rebrand all its UK broking entities under the Acrisure name by the end of 2025. The unified brand is expected to support organic growth, broker confidence, and talent acquisition across the UK.

Gary Green joins Acrisure’s MGA, Sutton Specialist Risks (SSR) to spearhead 2Vision, a new specialist unit catering to regional brokers supporting SMEs. SSR’s 2Vision will offer tailored cover for Professional Liability, Directors’ and Officers’ Liability, Commercial Combined, and Standalone Terrorism risks—sectors that continue to grow in complexity and regulatory scrutiny.

Tom Brown has been appointed to lead the former Hine Insurance business, now under Jeff Hobson, Regional Director in the North and CEO of Eleven Network. Tom was previously Broking Director at Lothbury and brings regional market knowledge and leadership in broking strategy.

Scott Feltham joins the Southern management team under Sally Swann, Regional Director of the South, Acrisure UK Broking, as Private Clients Development Director, tasked with strengthening Acrisure’s High Net Worth (HNW) and Family Office proposition. He brings over 20 years’ experience in overseeing and arranging complex insurance and risk management programmes for Ultra High Net Worth and HNW families and individuals across a wide spectrum of exposures.

WESTFIELD SPECIALTY

Westfield Specialty International has appointed Michael Poulteney as Class Underwriter and Manraj Kailia as Senior Underwriter to expand its offshore energy team. This is the latest in series of senior level hires being made by Westfield Specialty International this year as it continues to build-out its offering. Michael and Manraj will be based in London, with Michael reporting to Jon Hamilton, Head of Marine and Energy.
Michael Poulteney joins Westfield Specialty International with over fifteen years’ experience in the insurance industry. He arrives from Arch Insurance, where he spent 10 years in underwriting roles and was most recently Head of Offshore Energy. This followed a six-year spell at QBE. Manraj Kailia also joins from Arch, where he has been for 7 years. Manraj started his insurance career as part of the Lloyd’s graduate scheme in 2016.

ROKSTONE

Rokstone, the International Speciality (Re)Insurance MGA, part of the Aventum Group, has announced the appointment of Matt Bishop as Class Underwriter to its new UK and Ireland Casualty division, launched last week.

Matt joins Rokstone following his notice period from Convex, where he was Senior Underwriter for the last five years.  He has 35 years’ experience specialising in Casualty in the regional composite, Lloyds and London markets, specialising in UK and Ireland Casualty (Primary and Excess of Loss), Property, and Business Interruption.

DWF, the global provider of integrated legal and business services, has added Ben Smoker as a new partner in the business’ Major Injury and Casualty team in Manchester.

Ben joins DWF from Keoghs, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a proven track record in complex and catastrophic personal injury claims.

21X

Europe’s first fully regulated DLT trading and settlement system – has today announced the appointment of Prof. Ralf Wandmacher as its Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective immediately. Mr. Wandmacher will also join the company’s management board, bringing a wealth of experience from both traditional finance and the burgeoning digital asset space.

Mr. Wandmacher’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for 21X as it prepares for its go-live, having secured its operator’s license at the end of 2024.  Resilience, the leading cyber risk solutions company, announced today the appointment of Diego Rodriquez Vazquez as Underwriting Manager for Spain and Portugal.

Vazquez joins Resilience from Axa XL where he worked for two years as Senior Cyber Underwriter for Spain and Portugal; before that, he worked four years as a Cyber Underwriter for Iberia at Chubb. Vazquez worked for almost a decade as a cybersecurity consultant and auditor in top-level consultancies such as PwC and S21SEC, where he collaborated with the elaboration and deployment of cybersecurity strategic plans in important clients of the IBEX 35 and Fortune 500.

BROADSTONE

Broadstone, a leading, independent UK financial services consultancy delivering expert advice to employers, insurers, lenders and pension scheme trustees, today announces the appointment of Bill Pedersen to its Board as Non-Executive Director.

Bill is a highly-experienced executive in the financial services sector with a career spanning 35 years at Milliman, an international consulting and actuarial firm specialising in life insurance and financial services, property and casualty insurance, healthcare and employee benefits.

 Rokstone, the International Speciality (Re)Insurance MGA, part of the Aventum Group, has appointed Stephanie Belcourt as Head of Complex Claims. 

The appointment reflects the continued investment in the claims provision in line with Rokstone’s strategic growth as it enters new lines to diversify its expansive portfolio.  Now with a 16 strong in-house claims team, both in the US and UK, Rokstone has built a sophisticated and efficient global claims function, vital to meeting the expectations of first division carriers and broker partners, as well as maintaining competitive advantage in a rapidly evolving market.

Stephanie will join Rokstone following her notice period. She brings 20 years of industry experience, having previously served as Claims Manager for Marine and Liability at Apollo Syndicate 1969 for eight years. Prior to that, she held a similar position at Hiscox for seven years, following an early career in the legal profession. Stephanie is recognised for her technical claims expertise and strong industry relationships.

INSURANCE ADVISORY PARTNERS

 Insurance Advisory Partners, the insurance focused boutique investment banking firm, today announces the appointment of Benjamin James as Partner in the firm’s London office, effective end of June. James will be responsible for supporting the ongoing expansion of Insurance Advisory Partners operations across the UK and Europe, working closely with existing IAP Partners Bhaven Pathak (Partner, Head of UK & Europe) and Clive Buesnel (Managing Partner, International).
AON

 Aon plc (NYSE: AON), a leading global professional services firm, announces that the firm has appointed Lambros Lambrou to serve as Chief Strategy Officer for Aon, effective immediately.

As Chief Strategy Officer, Lambrou will take on responsibility for key Aon Executive Committee initiatives core to the firm’s Aon United strategy and 3×3 Plan, including support of Aon’s “independent and connected” NFP strategy. Aon recently celebrated the one-year anniversary of the close of the NFP acquisition, which has accelerated the firm’s access to the middle market and contributed meaningfully to the firm’s performance. Working closely with NFP CEO Doug Hammond and his leadership team, Lambrou will further reinforce points of connection that are leading to bringing the best of Aon and NFP to clients. WILLIS

Prior to joining Willis, Brian worked as Global Head of Mid-Corp Financial Lines at Allianz Commercial and was previously Head of Financial Lines Europe at Chubb. He has more than 30 years of experience across multiple continents and countries in Financial Lines and Cyber products. This includes primarily leading underwriting and underwriting support teams across country, regional and global geographies.
