It’s a win for fast growing blip. Here’s the word;
blip Small Business Insurance Provider is proud to announce that it has been named Business to Business StartUp of the Year at the StartUp Awards 2025 – South East. This award is recognition of blip’s transformative digital-first approach to supporting small businesses in the UK with affordable insurance.
The UK StartUp Awards celebrate the most exciting and impactful new businesses across the country. The Business to Business (B2B) category recognises early-stage companies that provide outstanding services to other businesses and play a vital role in supporting the UK economy. Winners are selected based on growth potential, differentiation in the market, and real-world impact.
blip offers simple, transparent, and competitively priced insurance, tailored to businesses with five employees or fewer. Through its profit-share model, blip can return up to 10% of policy premiums back to its members annually. Policies are delivered via its proprietary Quote & Buy platform, with cover available in minutes and claims aimed to pay out within 24 hours.
“We’re incredibly proud to receive this award,” said Gary Ross, Founder & CEO of blip. “This is a huge vote of confidence, not just in blip, but in the idea that small business insurance can be made simpler, fairer and more accessible to the people who need it. Small businesses make up the majority of UK companies, but they’ve long been overlooked by traditional providers. We built blip to change that, and this award validates our entire reason for being. Remember, when something goes wrong it’s just a blip, with blip’s insurance.”
Launched in February 2024, blip has attracted backing from seasoned insurance professionals and is currently fundraising. It has also formed key partnerships with professional organisation, including a new collaboration with SelectaDNA, enabling tradespeople to protect their tools with forensic marking technology and claim discounts on blip policies.
This year’s UK StartUp Awards received thousands of entries across ten regions. Winners from each category will now progress to the national finals, to be held at Ideas Fest in September.
