Gulf UK Supports Classic Cars on Show This Month

The word from Gulf UK, who are inviting car enthusiasts young and old to join them in honouring the brand’s rich heritage. Plus win some tasty prizes.

Certas Energy is the UK’s leading independent distributor of fuel and lubricants, supplying fuel to approximately 1,300 forecourts, including 500 Gulf-branded stations. To celebrate its history, Gulf sites across the UK are hosting ‘Gulf’s Big Journey’, a series of special open days where visitors can get up close and personal with pristine classic cars such as 1960s Morris Minors, Triumph Stags, Triumph TRs and MGs.

As well as seeing the classic cars on show, visitors will also get the opportunity to enter competitions to win exclusive Gulf merchandise and even a holiday.

Niall Taylor, Senior Marketing Manager for Certas Energy who has organised the event, said: “We are really excited to welcome visitors to Gulf’s Big Journey taking place this September.

“Gulf is such an iconic brand with a rich legacy, so we felt a classic car event would be the perfect way to evoke nostalgia and encourage people to revisit their old memories and hopefully create some new ones along the way. We’d like to thank all the classic car enthusiasts who have agreed to share their precious vehicles with us and would urge anyone with an interest in classic cars to come along to an open day near them.”

Around 50 classic cars will be posted at five gulf sites across England and Scotland throughout September, including: Gulf Wivelsfield Service Station, Haywards Heath, on Saturday 6th September; Gulf Lichfield Service Station, Stoke-on-Trent  on Sunday 7th September 2025; Gulf Tewkesbury Service Station, Tewkesbury, on Saturday 13th September 2025; Gulf Lowmoss Service Station, Glasgow on Sunday 14th September; and Gulf Witton Gilbert Service Station, Durham, on Sunday 14th September.

The classic car clubs taking part are the Glasgow Moggies, The Durham MG and Classic Car Club, Cotswold Classic Car Club, TR Stoke Group and the West Sussex Stag Owners Club.

Andre Salvidge, manager of Gulf Wivelsfield Service Station, which is hosting a series of classic Triumph Stags on Saturday (September 6), said: “We are really excited to welcome the West Sussex Stag Owners Club. It’s not every day you get to see pristine cars that date back to the 1970s so we’re hoping car enthusiasts young and old make the trip out to see the cars on display.

“Everyone is invited, there will be plenty of opportunities to talk to the owners and look at the cars, and there will be the big Gulf giveaway to enter too!”

The event is especially exciting because the event has been organised as part of a collaboration with Sony Pictures Entertainment for the new film, A Big, Bold, Beautiful Journey, with cinema tickets, special Gulf UK merchandise and even an Amalfi coast road trip among the prizes on offer.

The open days take place from 10am until midday.
