New Global Risk Management Proposition From Aviva

Aviva today announced its new Global Risk Management Solutions (GRMS) proposition – a globally connected practice that unites 230 of Aviva’s dedicated risk consultants from across the UK, Ireland and Canada, alongside a network of trusted third-party international partners, under a single vision.

This move marks the strategic evolution of Aviva Risk Management Solutions (ARMS) in each Aviva market, reflecting the changing needs of Commercial Lines clients and brokers, who increasingly require integrated thinking and cross-border risk management support to navigate an ever more complex, fast-moving and interconnected risk landscape.

This unified approach enhances Aviva’s ability to deliver consistent, high-quality risk solutions and offer a leading proposition wherever policies are underwritten by Aviva globally. It also marks a significant milestone in how Aviva supports Commercial Lines customers to confidently manage risk across international markets.

Leadership and global collaboration

Aviva’s new global risk management team is led by:

• Chris Andrews, Director of Risk Management Solutions, UK
• Pat Lee, Risk Management Solutions & Engineering Services Leader, Ireland
• John Billis, Vice President, Head of Aviva Risk Management Solutions, Canada

As part of Aviva Global Risk Management Solutions:

• ARMS UK & Ireland will focus on prevention solutions across the UK and Europe.
• ARMS Canada will lead service delivery solutions across North America.
• In other territories, Aviva will leverage its in-house expertise, or its trusted third-party specialist partners, now fully integrated into Aviva’s internal risk management platforms.

To support this global vision, the business has also created its first-ever globally focused role. Abigail Gainsford, Prevention Solutions Consultant – UK Centres of Excellence, will expand her remit to collaborate with teams in Canada and Ireland, driving the development of a unified global digital capability.

A truly global risk engineering network

Through centrally coordinated risk management programmes led by our Account Consultancy Model, and utilising the scalable international risk engineering capability, the global practice provides Aviva Commercial Lines customers and brokers with seamless access to technical expertise, local insight and internationally recognised loss prevention standards.

GRMS also introduces the Global Technical Specialist Network – a broader pool of experts across areas such as hazards, occupancy and technology exposures. This initiative connects Aviva’s teams to shared technical knowledge, empowering them with deeper insights and sharper risk intelligence to better support both underwriting and customer needs.
