Already used by brands such as Insurancewith and Holidaysafe, Protectif offers insurers and travellers a meaningful alternative to Verisk, which currently accounts for around 80% of all UK medical screenings for travel insurance and is used across all major price comparison websites.
Protectif is designed to reflect how people manage their health in the real world. It does this by starting with questions about medications rather than conditions. This approach may help reduce under-declaration and deliver a more accurate picture of individual risk.
First developed in 2006, this unique methodology enables providers to offer more inclusive and personalised cover, particularly for people with complex or pre-existing medical conditions. Now available to the wider market under licence, Protectif has shown, in internal benchmarking, potential improvements of up to 20% in loss ratios and reductions of as much as 50% in large losses.*
