The latest new thinking from Artio, with a new platform that’s designed to cut the lengthy admin processes associated with new climate/carbon projects;
Carbon insurance pioneer Artio has launched the industry’s first Insurability Assessment Platform, giving project developers global access to automated, independent assessments for free that were previously only available through lengthy manual processes.
The platform enables developers to upload project details and receive an assessment letter within a matter of days, providing trusted analysis to support funding conversations. Artio is also offering six months of free access to its biomass monitoring, carbon forecasting and climate risk modelling tools.
By lowering barriers to high-quality risk analysis, the platform helps developers de-risk projects, attract investment and scale faster, ultimately accelerating the growth of carbon projects around the world. Figures show that the voluntary and compliance carbon markets are on track to exceed $100B annually by 2035, with the potential to become a trillion-dollar asset class.
Ibrahim Sarwar, Co-Founder & COO at Artio, commented: “Too often, manual processes slow down project development and hold back the funding needed to get new projects off the ground. Carbon markets can only succeed if developers have access to the right tools at the right time, and that means making risk analysis efficient, reliable and accessible at scale.”
Initially focused on Afforestation and Reforestation (ARR) & Blue Carbon projects , the tool will expand to cover additional project types including Biochar, Enhanced Rock Weathering, Ocean/River Alkalinity and Improved Forest Management in the coming months.
Sarwar added: “With this platform, insurability assessments become fast, transparent and free. That will give investors greater confidence, help projects secure backing more quickly, and ultimately lead to the rapid scaling of the carbon ecosystem around the world.”
The Insurability Assessment Platform is available globally from today. To begin the process, project.
