DCL Launches Next Phase of Its Broker Portal

The latest news from DCL for you;

Direct Commercial Limited (DCL) has launched the next phase of its Broker Portal, enabling brokers to view the live vehicle schedule for each policy, add or remove vehicles from cover with certificates generated automatically, and access up-to-date client documents¹  – giving brokers faster control, increased efficiency, sharper insight and less admin.

Launched initially in November 2023 to provide real-time visibility of claims and a market-leading progress tracker, the portal has since become a core part of how brokers work with DCL.
It now supports more than 2,000 individual users and handles over 800 policy searches a week. The appeal of the portal has also helped drive a 26% rise in enquiries and a 29% increase in conversions over the past year.
What’s new from today:
– Self-service MTAs: brokers can add or remove vehicles and drivers directly in the portal and receive instant documentation, removing email chains and manual processing.
– Premium Advice Notes (PANs) and certificates: for as-and-when policies, these are auto-generated for each change and made available in the portal; while historical documents are not shown, all current items and any future adjustments will be logged and retrievable from the point of first use.
– Operational time-saver: immediate responses and straight-through document generation deliver tangible resourcing benefits for broker teams.

Joe Hantson, Deputy CEO of Direct Commercial, commented:

“Brokers told us they wanted less back-and-forth and more control. We’ve delivered exactly that. With self-service adjustments and instant documents, brokers can make changes in minutes, helping them serve clients better.”
Adoption and usage of the broker portal have accelerated. Over the past 90 days the portal recorded 10.34k active sessions from 793 distinct brokers, who completed 11.38k claims searches. Brokers now average around 878 policy searches a week – roughly 175 per working day (or 127 per day including weekends) – underlining how embedded the portal is in brokers’ daily workflows.
The upgrade continues DCL’s phased approach to digital service, pairing technology with claims transparency that brokers value. Access to real-time claims information and the claims progress tracker continue to be a mainstay of the broker portal experience.
Existing users can log in as normal to access the new features. Brokers with a DCL agency who are not yet registered should nominate a lead contact and email agency@directcommercial.co.uk to set up portal access.
