CAPCO

Global management and technology consultancy Capco, a Wipro company, continues its growth in Italy with the appointment of Massimo Paltrinieri as Partner and Head of Insurance for Italy.

Paltrinieri will partner with insurers to explore ongoing transformation opportunities in the market, drawing on his extensive experience in the insurance and financial services market. He was formerly Global Head of Information Systems at Generali for 13 years and has also worked at Commerzbank and McKinsey, and served as senior advisor to Deloitte, Salesforce and Banca IFIS. Based in Milan, the Capital Markets Company Italy (Capco Italy) partners with banks, insurance companies, and other financial services firms to help them navigate their key strategic priorities. Those priorities include AI adoption, the digitalization of operations, enhanced customer experiences, the modernization of data and analytics, and regulatory compliance.
BELFOR
Leading disaster recovery firm, BELFOR UK, is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Smith as Leak Detection Operations Manager. This strategic hire reflects the company’s commitment to strengthening its specialist service offering and delivering enhanced value to customers across insurance, property management, and facilities management sectors.
Robert joins from Polygon, bringing over 18 years of industry experience and a reputation for integrity, technical excellence, and leadership. Having progressed from technician to Head of Leak Detection Solutions there, Robert is widely respected not only as a professional mentor but also for his ability to really understand customers’ needs and deliver a technically precise service.
LIBERTY MUTUAL

Liberty Mutual Reinsurance (LM Re), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, is pleased to announce that Andrew Aldwinckle is joining the business as International Casualty Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO), effective 1 February 2026. Based in London, Aldwinckle will oversee LM Re’s international casualty portfolio, reporting to Chantal Rodriguez, CUO, LM Re.

In his new role Aldwinckle will be responsible for setting the underwriting strategy and driving the performance and profitable growth of the international casualty portfolio. LM Re underwrites a broad portfolio of casualty reinsurance business globally from its offices in the UK, Europe, Singapore, Australia and Latin America.

Rodriguez said: “Andrew’s wealth of market experience and proven expertise will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our international casualty capabilities, deliver on our strategic objectives, and build on our commitment to clients and brokers across key markets.”

MARKERSTUDY

Markerstudy announces the appointment of Kartina Tahir Thomson as an independent Non-Executive Director (iNED) of the Markerstudy Distribution Board.  

In a career spanning over 25 years, Kartina’s extensive experience lies in commercial, financial, actuarial, risk, regulation and governance with notable roles at Willis Towers Watson, Bank of England, as well as her recent post as the president of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA).

Kartina’s iNED career includes Dignity plc, a FTSE listed company, the IFoA, as Chair of Council, the IFoA Foundation, as its inaugural Chair, and the Actuarial Association of Europe.

ALLIANZ UK

Allianz UK announces the following executive leadership changes:

  • Ulf Lange has been appointed as Managing Director of Personal Lines*. Ulf, who has held the role of Chief Financial Officer since 2023, will take up the position on 1 December.
  • Michael Ruf has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer*. Michael, who joins from Allianz SE in Munich, has an extensive career in finance roles spanning more than a decade. Michael will join Allianz UK on 1 December.
  • Serge Raffard, current Managing Director of Personal Lines, is taking on a new role for Allianz, as General Manager, leading the team responsible for achieving Allianz’s growth ambitions in India.**
  • Suzanne Scott, formerly Chief People and Corporate Responsibility Officer for Axa UK and Ireland, has been appointed as Chief People & Culture Officer for Allianz UK. Julie Harrison, who has held the role since 2020, has decided now is the right time to move onto her next venture outside of Allianz.
  • David Kelly has been appointed as Chief Audit Officer* and will join Allianz UK in the new year. David joins from Brit Insurance and takes over from Matt Cox, who was appointed as Chief Claims Officer in January.

WEIGHTMANS

Law firm Weightmans has announced the appointment of two new partners, Emma Eccles (LEFT) and Mark Woodall, (RIGHT) to its Insurance law practice.

Both will be based in the firm’s Manchester office, joining at a time of unprecedented demand and growth across Weightmans’ insurance services.

Emma Eccles joins the firm as part of the national Large Loss team. Formerly a partner at Clyde & Co, Emma brings a wealth of experience in complex and high-value injury claims. She has advised insurers, public sector bodies, and corporates across the full spectrum of serious injury litigation, strengthening Weightmans’ capacity to deliver specialist expertise in this rapidly expanding area.

Mark Woodall arrives as a partner in the Cross Border team and will work closely with colleagues in both Manchester and London. Mark is recognised for his deep knowledge of handling complex transportation and cross-border claims, particularly those involving international insurers. His established client relationships, including longstanding ties with clients in the bus and coach sector, will further enhance Weightmans’ cross-border offering.

ACORD

ACORD Solutions Group, the leading provider of next-generation digital solutions for the global insurance industry, has engaged Dave Matcham as its Global Ambassador for digital markets. In this consulting role, Matcham will have responsibility for promoting the benefits of standardised data exchange, and facilitating connectivity across key global insurance hubs. Matcham, recently retired after a long tenure as CEO of the International Underwriting Association (IUA), has been a consistent advocate of standards-based digitalisation throughout the ACORD community and the wider industry.

FPSB

Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd. (FPSB), the global standards-setting body for the financial planning profession, is pleased to announce new leadership appointments taking effect in 2026. These appointments reflect FPSB’s ongoing commitment to deepening expertise within its Board and committees and advancing its mission to establish, uphold, and promote worldwide professional standards in financial planning represented by the CFP marks.

On 1 April 2026, Chairperson-elect Caroline Dabu will ascend to the role of FPSB Board chairperson for a two-year term, succeeding Andrea Middel, CFP. In addition, FPSB Board member Eunice Chan, Chartered Banker, CFP, IFP, will step up in 2026 as Board chairperson-elect for a two-year term.

As FPSB Board Chairperson, Dabu will lead the global standards-setting body for the financial planning profession and owner of the international CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER certification program, representing more than 230,000 CFP professionals worldwide.

With over 25 years of experience in wealth management, Dabu held senior roles in wealth management including leading Wealth Distribution and Advisory Services for one of Canada’s largest financial institutions. As Principal of VSGS Advisory Services Inc., she now partners with organizations who want to redefine how wealth advice is being delivered through differentiated business and go-to-market strategies.

SUN LIFE

Sun Life announces the appointment of Anshuman Das as Chief Bancassurance Officer, Asia, effective November 3, 2025. Anshuman will be responsible for leading Sun Life Asia’s bancassurance strategy, working closely with the senior leadership team across Asia to drive a world class distribution function founded on excellence, quality, and innovation.

Anshuman brings 15 years of experience spanning both insurance and consumer banking businesses. He has held leadership roles in local and regional capacities, with deep expertise in distribution partnerships, business management, and corporate strategy. Most recently, Anshuman was Executive Director within the regional bancassurance team at DBS, where he oversaw strategic partnerships across Life and General insurance as well as financial planning and analytics. Prior to DBS, he held various positions at HSBC Life, Citibank, and Standard Chartered Bank.

NORTH STANDARD

NorthStandard has announced Michael Hustler as its new Head of Asia Pacific, in an appointment which reinforces the global marine insurer’s focus on growth, service expansion and diversification in the region. With a formal start date of 27th October, Mr Hustler brings 16 years of Claims and Underwriting with NorthStandard to his new role – most recently as Head of Underwriting, Asia Pacific. As Head of Asia Pacific, he replaces David Roberts, who will leave NorthStandard in February 2026.

OPEN GI

Open GI has appointed insurance technology expert, Stuart Walters as a non-executive director with immediate effect.
Walters has held a number of senior technology roles in a range of sectors including BGL Group where he was Chief Information Officer for more than seven years between 2013 and 2021.

At BGL he was responsible for strategy and execution of the technology and digital agenda across BGL and its subsidiary, Comparethemarket.
The move reunites him with Open GI Chairman, Peter Thompson, who headed up BGL between 2018 and 2023. His appointment will support the acceleration of tech development and transformation at Open GI.

FINCONS GROUP

Fincons Group, a leading IT business consultancy and systems integrator company with more than 40 years of experience in the international market, is pleased to announce the appointment of Carlo Nebuloni as General Manager UK.

CANOPIUS GROUP

Canopius Group, a leading global specialty and P&C (re)insurer, is pleased to announce that it has hired Rachel Webber in the newly created role of Head of Reinsurance, UK. Rachel will report to Aloïs Rouffiac, Canopius’ UK Chief Underwriting Officer and Active Underwriter.

Rachel is a senior reinsurance professional with extensive experience in both technical and underwriting functions. Most recently, she served as Senior Vice President, Head of Non-Marine at Trans Re. Her career is marked by a blend of underwriting leadership and strategic project execution.

Reinsurance is a strategic focus for Canopius, with growth ambitions in the UK that complement its reinsurance offerings alongside Bermuda and APAC. Canopius has proved its commitment to investing in reinsurance as evidenced by the recent expansion of its Casualty Treaty business and entry into the Aviation Treaty market in London.

DCL

Direct Commercial Limited (DCL) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ian White as Head of Retail New Business, effective 16 October 2025.

Ian joins DCL from Century Underwriting, where he was Managing Director and has been a driving force in growing its motor fleet underwriting business. For over more than three decades in the industry, Ian has developed deep expertise in commercial motor, fleet underwriting and broker relationships.
QBE RE

QBE Re is pleased to announce the appointment of Cindy Foo as Head of Asia, Treaty 1, effective 1 December 2025.

Cindy will be based in Singapore and will report to Abdallah Balbeisi, Executive Director of Europe and Growth Markets.

This newly created role marks a significant step in QBE Re’s strategy to expand its treaty reinsurance footprint across Asia, with Singapore to serve as the hub for this growth.
