Deals: Insly Buys Socrates Systems

The latest acquisition for Insly;

Insly, the low-risk, enterprise-grade insurance software provider, has announced the acquisition of Socrates Systems, the UK-based boutique insurance technology company. The partnership will strengthen Insly’s presence in the UK market and allow both businesses to accelerate growth through shared innovation, technology, and expertise.

This marks an important step in Insly’s strategy to collaborate with specialist providers that share its vision for scalable, flexible, and client-focused technology. Together, the two companies will continue to provide insurers, brokers, and agents with modern, high-performing platforms that combine Insly’s innovative technology and global reach with Socrates’ bespoke, relationship-driven approach.

Socrates Systems was founded in 2011 by Jody Brooks, who identified inefficiencies in the way insurance systems were built and operated. Over the past decade, the company has evolved from a niche underwriting system into a fully featured online platform used by leading UK insurers and brands. Today, Socrates powers millions of transactions each year and is known for its flexible product design, client collaboration, and attention to detail.

The shared culture and technical alignment between Insly and Socrates were key to the partnership. Both businesses focus on building configurable, secure software that supports rapid product launches and seamless third-party integration. Socrates brings proven expertise in specialist markets such as travel and pet insurance, as well as an experienced team with deep sector knowledge.

Socrates will continue to operate under its own brand as part of the Insly Group, with access to Insly’s AI capabilities, infrastructure, and resources — something Jody believes will further enhance the value delivered to clients.
