Amica Mutual Insurance Company is entering a new chapter as longtime COO Ted Murphy retires after 45 years, leaving a lasting impact on the company’s operations and culture. Effective January 1, 2026, Sam Palmisano, current SVP and Chief HR Officer, will assume the COO role, while Scott Boyd is promoted to Chief HR Officer, continuing Amica’s focus on employee experience and strategic growth.

Zurich UK today announces the appointment of Paul Norcott as UK Operations Director, also joining the UK Executive Committee with immediate effect. In this key leadership role, Paul will oversee a wide range of critical functions including Operations and Information Governance, Financial Crime right through to Business and Supplier Resilience and Customer Operations.
Paul brings extensive experience from across the financial services sector, having held senior positions at Tesco Bank, First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), The Co-operative Bank, Barclaycard, Bank of America, and American Express before joining Zurich in 2024.

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright confirmed that 51 of its lawyers globally will be promoted to partner, effective January 1, 2026.
This year’s class spans 12 practice areas across the firm, including litigation and disputes (14), corporate, M&A and securities (13), banking and finance (8), intellectual property (4), antitrust and competition (2), cybersecurity and data privacy (2), projects (2), government (2), employment and labor (1), financial services and regulation (1), healthcare transactions (1) and risk advisory (1).

Global business insurer QBE announces the appointment of Nick Hankin as Managing Director of QBE Re, effective from 1st January 2026.
Nick’s current role is Chief Underwriting Officer of QBE International. He has held this role since March 2021, having joined QBE European Operations as Deputy Chief Underwriting Officer in July 2020 and the Group CUO team in March 2020.
Today’s appointment follows on from Chris Killourhy’s move to Group Chief Financial Officer, announced earlier this year.
Nick’s career spans six major global organisations, including RSA, AXA, Zurich, AIG and Aviva. His experience encompasses leadership roles in underwriting, P&L management, risk & governance and strategy. Nick has more than 30 years of underwriting experience and holds an MBA from Cass Business School. He is the current chair of the ABI commercial committee.

QBE is also pleased to announce the appointment of Sharon Smallridge as Portfolio Manager for its UK Casualty team. Leading QBE’s London Major Client Portfolio for the UK Casualty team, Sharon joins from commercial insurer AIG. Effective from today, her role will be based out of QBE’s London office.
Bringing over 35 years of insurance experience across claims and underwriting, Sharon has spent the last 12 years in various senior roles, most recently as General Liability Manager. The appointment is the second senior hire for QBE’s UK Casualty team this year. In June, QBE announced that Adrian Browne would take on the role of Director of Underwriting for UK Casualty following the retirement of Anna Bennett at the end 2025.
TIDE
Tide, the leading business management platform, has appointed Dan McNally as SVP and CEO of Tide Insurance Services, to lead its growing global insurance business and drive the next phase of Tide’s expansion into business protection for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). The appointment is subject to FCA approval.
Dan brings over 25 years of experience across the insurance market, spanning both insurer and broker roles. He joins Tide from Simply Business, the UK’s largest digital SME insurance intermediary, where he led one of its key target growth businesses. He previously spent more than a decade at RSA Insurance Group (now Intact), one of the UK’s most respected insurers, sat on the Executive Committee at the UK’s largest broker network, and was part of the leadership team at Cytora, a recently exited Insurtech using data and AI to transform commercial underwriting.
BSPOKE GROUP
Bspoke Group announces two senior leadership changes as it continues to drive its next phase of its growth.
Nick Grazier has been appointed Group Sales and Marketing Director, following the consolidation of the Group’s Sales and Marketing functions into a single team. Nick brings extensive experience and strategic expertise and will work across the business to align people, strategy and commercial outcomes in support of Bspoke’s ambitious growth plans.
Wayne Tonge will assume the role of Group Commercial Managing Director. Wayne takes on this key position alongside his existing responsibilities, providing stable and experienced leadership for the Commercial Division which includes Commercial SME, Sports & Leisure, Property Owners and Fee Protection.
Both roles will report to CEO Ryan Gill and are subject to regulatory approval.

Nicole Pieterse joined Swiss Re in 2015 and currently serves as Head Human Resources for P&C Re. She brings deep HR leadership expertise and a strong track record across the financial services industry, where she held a range of senior HR roles prior to joining Swiss Re.
ARROWHEAD INTERMEDIARIES

Arrowhead Intermediaries (Arrowhead) has announced the appointment of Steven Beard as Chief Executive Officer, International. He will join the firm in February 2026 and be based in London.
Beard will be reporting to Steve Boyd, Chief Executive Officer of Arrowhead Intermediaries, joining a leadership team that brings deep experience, strategic vision and a shared commitment to excellence. B.P. Marsh & Partners Plc (AIM: BPM), the specialist venture capital investor in early stage financial services businesses, announces that, as part of the Group’s long term succession planning, Brian Marsh OBE, who founded the business in 1989 and has been Executive Chairman since its listing in 2006, is taking a step back from his executive role and will assume the role of Non-Executive Chairman, with immediate effect.
Dan Topping (previously Chief Investment Officer) will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect. Dan was appointed as a director of B.P. Marsh in March 2011 having joined the Group in February 2007. Dan has been responsible for the portfolio and investment strategy of the Group since being appointed Chief Investment Officer in 2016, working alongside the Board and the Investment Department to find, structure, develop, support and monitor the portfolio.

Alice Foulk will move from Managing Director to Chief Operating Officer, with immediate effect. Francesca Chappell will remain as Chief Finance Officer.
Mosaic Insurance has hired US-based finpro executive Sachin Warty to lead its global financial institutions and professional liability business as the firm prepares to expand both product lines across North America.
Based in Chicago, IL, Warty joins the specialty insurer effective December 15 as Global Head of Financial Institutions & Professional Liability (FinPro). Reporting to him will be UK-based Francesca Harland, who becomes Head of International, Professional Liability, and Jacqueline Hall-Shaw, named Head of International, Financial Institutions.
As part of the re-alignment, two other key Mosaic executives have been promoted to help drive market expansion and engagement. Former FI head Tom Dilley and Danny Clack, Deputy Active Underwriter of Mosaic Syndicate 1609, now have enhanced positions—becoming Global Head of Client Engagement and Head of Broker Engagement, International, respectively, reporting to Global Engagement Officer Yosha DeLong while retaining underwriting roles.
