
The latest job moves and senior appointments across the insurance sector;
KISSTERRA
Kissterra has appointed Udi Ziv as CEO. Prior to joining Kissterra, Udi served as CEO at Earnix (growing it to a Unicorn), CEO at Pontis (acquired by Amdocs) as well as President at NICE Systems, GM at SAP and co-founder of TopTier (acquired by SAP).
Udi has over 30 years of successfully leading enterprise software companies in global markets through his unique mixture of professionalism and being super nice.
SEDGWICK
Sedgwick, a leading global provider of technology-enabled risk, benefits, and integrated business solutions has appointed Steve Godbold to the role of private client director in the UK. Godbold succeeds current private client director Clive Ellis, who is stepping back to pursue other interests, while continuing to provide Sedgwick with the benefit of his expertise in a consultancy role.
Godbold brings with him over 25 years of experience in the industry, 17 of which were spent with a prominent insurance business, managing their in-house private client adjusting team. Godbold will be responsible for ensuring that Sedgwick’s private clients continue to receive a high-quality bespoke service, tailored to meet their needs, by heading up a dedicated team of private client specialists, supported by one of the largest providers of risk, benefits and integrated business solutions in the world.
BRIDGETECH AUTOMOTIVE
Bridgetech Group has announced several high-profile appointments. A new Head of Operations, a Team Leader, a Front-end Developer and a UX specialist have been recruited to help support the business and continue delivering the high level of service our customers have become accustomed to.
Simon Daly has joined the company as Head of Operations for Arbitrate, subsequently moving up to the role of Operations Director of Bridgetech Automotive. Simon has a broad experience base which he has acquired in roles for companies such as Catalyst, Ansa and Independent Inspections.
Matt Davenport has joined as Team Leader for Arbitrate. Matt has previously worked at Slater Gordon Solutions Motor in the Service Provision Team. He is also a qualified mortgage adviser and has specialised in Second Charge Mortgages for the last three years, whilst working for Oplo/Tandem Bank.
Alex Edwards has also started at Bridgetech Automotive as a Front End Developer. His experience includes running an electronics repair business called Silicon Repairs, which involved software development, electronics repair, and customer service. He brings that know-how and leadership capabilities to the team.
Robyn Waldron-Cooper is the newly appointed user experience specialist. Robyn’s skills include: cost management, project leadership, strategy, visual design, service design, prototyping, research, consulting, user journeys, wireframes, storyboarding, testing and usability, and project management.
ALLIANZ GLOBAL CORPORATE
Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) announces that Gordon Browne has been appointed Global Head of Specialty, reporting to Chief Underwriting Officer Shanil Williams who oversees all of AGCS’s nine lines of business in the AGCS SE Board of Management.
Browne will join AGCS in New York in April 2023 to lead the underwriting and further development of its well-established Specialty business which are Aviation, Energy & Construction, Entertainment, and Marine. Together they represented nearly 30% of the €11.2 billion of gross written premiums that AGCS underwrote in 2022, making up a diversified portfolio that covers risks as varied as large infrastructure or renewable projects, international cargo, and blue-water shipping fleets, as well as Hollywood blockbusters, music festivals, major ‘flag carrier’ airlines, and international airports.
VERLINGUE
Chartered insurance broker Verlingue Ltd has appointed experienced specialist Jon Bethell as Head of Private Clients under plans to rapidly expand and grow its existing High Net Worth (HNW) offering.
Jon has almost two decade’s insurance experience and joins from insurer Hiscox where he worked for 12 years, supporting some of the UK’s largest brokers. He most recently managed the trading team. Previous roles included claims and underwriting functions at insurers Ageas and Aviva respectively.
Jon will be using his specialist expertise to develop a market leading HNW proposition at Verlingue and to deliver new growth and development opportunities.
LSM
Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has announced the appointment of Olivier Reiz to the role of General Manager Insurance, France. Reiz reports to Kadidja Sinz, President of Europe & MENA for LSM. He is based in Paris and takes up the role with immediate effect.
Reiz is responsible for leading the LSM team in France, delivering excellent service standards and driving growth for LSM’s insurance business in the region. He has 25 years of experience in the European insurance market and has held roles in sales, distribution, marketing, and actuarial.
McGILL & PARTNERS
McGill and Partners, the independent specialist (re)insurance broker, has expanded its financial lines offering with the appointment of three new Partners: Paul Morgan, Breda Duignan and Abel Budd. These three talented new hires bring additional expertise to further build on the success of financial lines team as it continues to expand its blue-chip client base.
Paul has worked in the insurance industry for 25 years and has always focused specifically on financial institutions. Having worked for each of the major global brokers, he was most recently head of the financial institutions team at Gallagher. During his career, he has worked with a broad range of clients including tier-one banks and global hedge funds, individual investment vehicles, and start-up companies.
Breda has also been in the insurance market for 25 years having joined the McGill and Partners team from Aon. Breda specialises in financial lines solutions for large global clients, including experience working with FTSE 100 companies, banks, asset managers, and insurance companies.
Abel joins from the executive risks team at Beazley, where he was a Senior Underwriter. He has a background in both broking and underwriting and in his 11-year career has focussed particularly on directors’ and officers’ liability, employment practices liability, sexual abuse liability, pension trustees’ liability, and commercial crime.
