DOA Underwriting and Blink Parametric Team Up on Flight Delay Cover

The latest partnership news from Blink Parametric for you;

DOA Underwriting has today announced the launch of Enhanced Flight Delay, a new parametric travel benefit designed to significantly improve the customer experience during flight disruptions. Powered by Blink Parametric, the service provides travellers with complimentary access to VIP airport lounges when flights are delayed by two and a half hours or more.

Enhanced Flight Delay is launching on DOA’s SunWorld travel insurance product and will be included as standard for customers purchasing Prestige and Premier Plus policies. Customers travelling on Standard and Premier policies can also add the service as an optional extra, giving travellers greater choice and flexibility when building their cover.

When a registered flight is delayed by 2.5 hours or more, travellers receive a VIP airport lounge pass, granting access to over 1,200 lounges worldwide. Instead of waiting in crowded terminals, customers can enjoy a more comfortable experience, with lounges typically offering seating, refreshments, Wi-Fi and additional amenities depending on location.

The service is fully automated through Blink Parametric’s real-time platform. Once a flight is registered, delays are monitored automatically, removing the need for claim forms, receipts or manual intervention at the airport. Even where a lounge is not available at the delay location, travellers can retain their lounge pass and use it at an eligible airport within three months.

Raising the Standard for Travel Disruption Benefits

Enhanced Flight Delay reflects DOA’s continued focus on enhancing value beyond traditional claims-based cover. By embedding a parametric service directly into the SunWorld product range, DOA is delivering an immediate, tangible benefit at the moment disruption occurs.

Jack Hines, Head of Personal Lines at DOA Underwriting, said: “Enhanced Flight Delay is about giving our customers something genuinely useful when travel doesn’t go to plan. Flight delays are frustrating, but this service helps turn that experience into something far more comfortable. By embedding it into our SunWorld Prestige and Premier Plus policies, and offering it as an option elsewhere, we’re giving travellers real value and flexibility.”
